Adam “Pac Man” Jones CB West Virginia 5’11 185
Pac Man Jones jumped onto the scene as a sophomore, showcasing his ability as a corner, and doubling as a return man. On defense, he finished the year with 89 tackles, 4 interceptions, and 14 pass breakups, leading to 2nd team All Big East honors. He also finished the year with a 26.7 kick off return average, which was good for 16th best in the country. This season as a true junior, Jones finished with team highs in tackles with 69 and interceptions with three. On special teams, he finished with a 22.8 kickoff return average, and a 14.8 punt return average, including a 76 yard return for a touchdown.
Jones is an exciting corner prospect. He is a great athlete, with awesome speed. He can turn and run with just about anyone. He is tough and willing to make plays in the backfield. He also doubles as a very good return man, both on kicks and punts.
Jones is a very good corner prospect. He brings the speed and playmaking ability that teams love. That’s going to cause him to rise to the top of many corner draft boards as the draft approaches. I believe he gambles too much, and with his lack of size, I prefer a couple corners over him. He should post excellent workout numbers, and he may eventually be the first corner off the board. He will end up a first round selection.
