Chris Colmer OT North Carolina St. 6’5 305
Colmer has been a name to watch seemingly forever. This is his sixth season at NC St, and he has played since his redshirt freshman season. He was a top tackle prospect after his junior season, after he received 2nd team All ACC honors. During his senior season, he suffered a big blow. He was diagnosed with Parsonage Turner Syndrome, which is a viral infection that causes numbness and pain. He missed the entire 2003 season, but was granted a sixth year.
Chris Colmer is a very solid all around tackle. He shows nice agility in pass protection, and is strong in the running game. He battles until the whistle blows and is really physical. He has the type of attitude you wish every offensive lineman had.
On the field, Colmer is a very good tackle prospect. But he’s going to have to show that he is completely healthy in post season sessions with doctors. Even still, his penchant for injuries will knock him down a few levels come draft time. If he is completely healthy, he could hear his name called in the late second, or 3rd round. If there are legitimate doubts about his health, he could really slide. His stock is hard to predict right now, but he is a talent for sure. If healthy, he should develop into a quality tackle in the NFL.
