Chris Spencer C Ole Miss 6’3 310
By: Robert Davis

Chris Spencer signed with Ole Miss and huge expectations followed him on campus. He didn’t live up to his full potential until this past season where he was named All SEC for his work at center. He played as a freshman, but didn’t get into the starting lineup until his sophomore year. He became a full time starter as a junior, and was one of the best college lineman in the country.

Physically, Spencer is the ideal center prospect. He has solid size, is a great athlete, and can dominate you at the point of attack with his natural strength. He has the quickness and agility to block on the move, and has the versatility to play guard at the next level.

Spencer just needs more time to develop his skills. He’s only started for one full season, and declared a year early for the draft. He may need a little time to fully reach his potential.

You don’t find too many center prospects with as much natural ability as Spencer. He can do it all, and it may just be a matter of time before he is one of the better interior lineman in the NFL. With centers not being put at a premium on draft day, and with him needing a bit of work, he probably will not hear his name called until the second round.
