David Greene QB Georgia 6’3 227
Very few college quarterbacks have a resume as extensive as David Greene’s. Greene played as a redshirt freshman and set UGA freshman records with 2,789 passing yards and 17 touchdowns, while being named the SEC Freshman of the Year. As a sophomore, he continued to light up college football. He threw for 2,924 yards with 22 touchdowns and just 8 INT’s, while being named All SEC, SEC Player of the Year, and he was MVP of the SEC title game. During his junior season, he threw for 3,307 yards, 13/11 TD/INT ratio while completing over 60% of his passes. The awards continued to come in, as he was again voted All SEC and was named MVP of the Capital One Bowl. As a senior, Greene completed 58.5% of his passes for 2,508 yards for 20 touchdowns and just 4 interceptions. He was named All SEC once again, and was a finalist for the Maxwell and Unitas awards. For his career, Greene holds the NCAA record for most wins with 42, and started 52 consecutive games, another NCAA record. He set numerous SEC passing records, including passing yardage(11,528 yards), and 72 touchdown passes, which is a UGA record.
David Greene brings a lot of positives to the football field. He is very efficient on the field, and doesn’t make many mistakes. He is a great team leader, and very tough. Simply put, he is a winner. He shows solid mobility to elude the rush and throw outside the pocket.
David Greene has a lot of doubters despite the numbers he put up in college. He has a lot to prove during the workout circuit, mainly showing that his arm is not as bad as it has looked during his Georgia career. If Greene’s arm were even slightly above average, you might be looking at a first round pick. As it stands, he looks like a second day prospect, but he certainly possesses the intangibles to surprise and stick in the league.
