Elton Brown OG Virginia 6’6 338
Elton Brown has put together a great career during his time at Virginia, and this season was no different. He was on many pre season all american lists, and he did not disappoint. Entering the season, he had 27 career starts during his 3 year career. As a junior, Brown won the Jacob Blocking Trophy, given to the ACC’s top offensive lineman.
Elton Brown brings a lot to the table on the offensive line. He’s got great size, and plays with a lot of strength on the field. If he gets his hands on you, you’re all but done in the running game. He moves very well laterally, and is a very good overall athlete for an interior offensive lineman. He may even have the ability to slide out to RT, which will only increase his value. Brown has a ton of experience, and should be ready to play early in his NFL career. Brown was also named team captain, showing good leadership qualities on the field.
Elton Brown is a great guard prospect, but guards do not tend to go very high. If a team feels that Brown can play tackle, his value should increase, and he’ll go off the board before he is expected to. As a guard, he is clearly the top player available, and should be taken in Round 1 at some point. If he gets with a coach that will light a fire under him, Brown could be a pro bowl offensive lineman in no time.
