Gino Guidugli QB Cincinnati 6’3 225
Before entering his senior season, Gino Guidugli was already entrenched in the Cincinnati record book. He holds numerous single season and career passing records including, career passing yards(8,820 yards), total offensive yards(8,938 yards)career passing touchdowns(52), single season passing yards(3,543 yards), among others. He has been named Conference USA Freshman of the Year and been named to the second team all C-USA as a sophomore.
Guidugli has a lot of potential at the next level. He’s got very good physical skills across the table: He’s got decent size, he’s a good athlete, and he’s got a strong arm. On the field, he shows the arm and can get the ball downfield. He will hang in the pocket, but can escape the rush with his athleticism. He is a leader on the field and can get his troops to rally around him.
There is a little bit of Bret Favre in Guidugli. He has the ability to make a lot of things on the field happen, and he feels he can get the ball into coverage no matter what the defense is doing. Often times it will result in a pick, but it also allows for the improbable comeback. I think Guidugli is a borderline Day 1 talent at this point, but he has the skills to rise up as the draft approaches, and with some coaching could be a real steal in this draft.
