Chad Jackson WR 6' 213 Florida Jr.
By: Robert Davis
NFL Combine Stats: 40-yard dash - 4.32, vertical jump - 38.5"
After coming to Florida as a big time recruit, Jackson did not get much time as a freshman, but began paying dividends as a sophomore. On the season he had 29 catches for 648 yards and six touchdowns. When Urban Meyer took over this year though, he became a bigger standout. He finished the season with an SEC leading 88 catches for 900 yards and nine touchdowns.
Chad Jackson has it all from a physical standpoint. He has good size, is a very good athlete, and has excellent speed. He is built very well, and can go over the middle. His speed allows him to get downfield and his frame allows him to go up and get the ball. He has the ability to be an all around standout at wide receiver.
Although Jackson had a solid sophomore season, this was his only great season. Urban Meyer had a lot to do with that. But, is that a good or a bad thing? It could make him a product of the system. He has also had some consistency issues with his hands.
In a weak receiver draft, Jackson has a chance to be the best of them all. After blazing a 4.32 40 at the combine, he may have put himself in line to be the first receiver selected. Jackson may need a little time and work to develop, but he has all the talent to develop into an excellent wide receiver. He is a first round lock, and will battle with Santonio Holmes to be the first receiver selected.
