Clinton Solomon

NFL Draft News

Clinton Solomon WR 6’3 196 Iowa
By: Robert Davis

Clinton Solomon signed with Iowa and played as a freshman, but spent his sophomore season at a junior college in Iowa. He returned to Iowa for his junior season and emerged as one of the top wideouts in the Big 10. On the year he earned All Big 10 2nd team honors after totaling 58 grabs for 905 yards and six touchdowns. As a senior this year, Solomon hauled in 46 balls for 800 yards and seven touchdowns.

Solomon is a very good wide receiver prospect. He is tall, and knows how to use his body to make plays on the ball. He is also tough, and does not shy away from contact over the middle. Most importantly, he displays the ability to hold on to the ball when taking a hit across the middle. Once he gets moving, Solomon also has the ability to make big plays down the field.

While he has the ability to get down the field, he does not have great speed. He has solid speed once he gets moving forward, but he does not change direction well. Solomon also has only two years of experience of playing consistently at the D1 level.

Clinton Solomon has been steadily rising up draft boards since last season. He only carries a second day grade, but a few good 40 times could help him move up the charts.
