Kyle Young has steadily improved as a Bulldog, and became one of the top interior lineman in college.. He went from a freshman AA, to 2nd team All WAC as a sophomore, and 1st team All WAC as a junior. He was however suspended for academics mid way through his senior year, and did not play again.
Young is a solid interior line prospet. He has a lot of experience at the center position, and may project to a guard spot as well. He is massive, and can drive players off the ball. He is a decent athlete, and he plays hard on the field.
Young is not the greatest at getting out and blocking on the move. At the center position, his height might work against him at times. Young’s problems really are not on the field though, they come off it. He was suspended for the remainder of his senior year, and then showed up overweight for the pro day. Teams will have to see how badly he wants to be successful now.
Kyle Young has the talent to play center or guard in the NFL and be a Day One pick. However, he didn’t close his career out very well, and his draft stock is on the decline. If he can get his head back on straight, he will be a steal for someone on Day Two.
