Alex Brink has been around seemingly forever. He moved into the starting lineup as a freshman and threw for 1,305 yards and seven touchdowns to five interceptions, while completing exactly 50% of his passes. He has remained the starter for the Cougs, and continued to improve over the next two seasons. As a sophomore, he threw for 2,891 yards and a career high 24 touchdowns, while improving his completion percentage to almost 58%. He did also have a career high 13 picks that season as well. As a junior last season, Brink had his best overall season. He completed over 60% of his passes for 2,899 yards and 19 touchdowns to just 10 interceptions. He had another fine season as a senior, throwing for 3,818 yards, while completing over 60% of his passes for 26 touchdowns and 15 interceptions.
Brink is an underrated prospect. He has all the tools to develop into a quality NFL quarterback. He has a good arm, and can make every throw. He shows good touch on the football, and has continued to improve his accuracy every season in college. He is tough, will sit in the pocket and take a hit to deliver the football.
While he has been rather efficient over his career, Brink has had a tendency to throw the ball into coverage. Sometimes he will make the great throw but others it will leave you wondering why he even threw the ball.
Brink has continued to get better each year, and has the talent to play on Sundays. He could be a player that continues to rise as the season goes on. He is tough and intelligent, and could be a player that really surprises in a few years.
