Patrick started his career at Independence(KS) Community College before transferring to Oklahoma. He originally started out as a DB, but moved to RB in the fourth game and rushed for 136 yards and two TD’s in 2005. As a junior in 2006, he ran for 761 yards and four touchdowns. Sharing the RB position with Demarco Murray as a senior, Patrick still ran for 1,009 yards and eight touchdowns.
Patrick is a good athlete, that has the quickness to hit the hole, and the speed to turn the corner. He is a tough runner, and willing to run between the tackles. He is a slashing back that hits the hole hard, and will battle for extra yards.
Patrick is more of an interior runner, but he lacks the size and bulk to do that in the NFL. He does not have the power to break tackles consistently or the bulk to continually take a beating between the tackles. He also lacks the explosive speed to get to the secondary and outrun defenders.
Patrick is a guy who is a good runner, but may lack the overall size to be a major factor in the NFL. He does not have any standout physical trait and his running style does not match his frame. Still, his toughness and running ability could allow him to make an impact in the NFL.
