Wallace was a reserve as a freshman, in 2004 but took over the starting job a year later. He has not let go of the job since, earning All Big 12 honors for his success.
Wallace is an intelligent lineman. He reads the defense well, and adjust on the move. He sets up quickly and gets good leverage on the defender. He has the ability to move well laterally in a short area in pass protection. Wallace is tough and will battle until the whistle blows.
Wallace is on the lean side and will need to pack on some weight at the next level. He does not have the bulk or the strength to move defenders off the ball in the running game.
Wallace has the intelligence and attitude to be a quality lineman, but he will need to get stronger to control defenders better. He probably fits best in a zone blocking scheme so that he does not have to take on more powerful lineman and drive them off the ball.
