Morgan redshirted his freshman season due to a hip injury suffered before his senior season. As a redshirt freshman in 2005, he had 44 tackles and a pick on the year. Morgan had another solid season as a reserve in 2006, finishing the year with 59 tackles and two picks on the year. In his lone season as a starter, he had 97 tackles and three picks for the season.
Morgan is a solid all around safety. He is a very good athlete, that has the speed to cover a lot of ground in coverage or attacking the line of scrimmage. He is aggressive in run support and not afraid to mix it up at the line. Morgan has a lot of upside left, as he only had one year of starting experience. He should also be a standout special teamer in the NFL.
Morgan will need to get bigger in the NFL to support his aggressive style of play. He also needs to play with more control, as he can get too aggressive at times and take himself out of the action.
Morgan is a very good safety prospect and should hear his name called in the first 75 picks. He has the ability to be an all around standout and has room to grow as he gains more experience.
