Pressley was a huge recruit that had just 15 tackles, one for loss as a freshman in 2004. He became a solid contributor as a sophomore, finishing the year with 43 tackles, six for loss, and a sack. The numbers were nearly identical a year later, where he finished with 34/6/2. As a senior, he again had extremely similar numbers, posting 38/6/1.5 for the year.
Pressley has all the athletic gifts to be a stud defensive tackle. He is an excellent athlete, with the quickness and change of direction ability to blow by lineman. He can get into the backfield anytime he wants and disrupt the action.
Pressley does not appear to want it all the time. He could be a high first rounder if he played with the same intensity on every down. He hasn’t come up with many big plays but he can get penetration when he applies himself.
Pressley is a guy that has not quite lived up to the hype. He is a solid player but has major potential. If the light ever turns on, someone could have found themselves a steal. With the right coach, Pressley could become a very good NFL tackle.
