Demps is a solid cover safety. He has decent size for the free safety position and is a good athlete. His ball skills are top notch. He is very good at reading the action and getting to the action. Demps has the speed to cover a lot of ground and make a lot of plays in deep coverage.
Demps does not offer much in run support. His prefers to stay back in coverage, and lacks the strength to make a different at the line of scrimmage.
Demps’ lack of an all around game may limit his upside in the NFL. He could be a standout playmaker in coverage, but most teams want some physicality from their safeties. For a team in need of a boost to their free safety position, Demps is a solid mid round option.
