Felder had a great freshman season earning Freshman All America honors after his 39 tackles, 1.5 for loss, and one sack performance for the season. As a sophomore he battled injuries all year and finished with just 18 tackles. Felder bounced back as a junior and had a fantastic season, finishing with a career high 101 tackles, 3.5 for loss, two sacks, and an interception. He had a fine season as a senior as well, finishing the year with 93 tackles, five for loss, .5 sacks, and a pick.
Strengths
Felder is a solid linebacker that has nice all around skills. He has decent size and long arms that allow him to make plays in coverage and be a force against the run. Felder is aggressive and very active on the field, and has the smarts to read the action and fly up the field to get to the ball carrier. He is a good athlete that also has the instincts to play in coverage. He is very disciplined and always has himself in position to make a play.
Weaknesses
Felder can have some trouble shedding blocks. He shows the natural strength to take on blocks, but he needs to do a better job using his hands to shed. Despite his all around skills, he may lack one true position. He lacks the blazing speed to run plays down on the weakside and the bulk and ability to take on blocks inside or on the strong side.
Future
Felder is a tough and intelligent linebacker that will give you full effort every game. He may lack the ideal physical traits to be a playmaker all over the field, but he will get you a consistent effort on the field. He came in a bit smaller than expected at the combine, but had a respectable showing with a 4.77 40, and finished second on the bench with 28 reps.
