DENVER BRONCOS HAVE THE RIGHTS TO THE WASHINGTON REDSKINS 1ST ROUND PICK. IT WAS PART OF A THREE WAY TRADE WITH ATLANTA. IF WASHINGTON HAS A WORSE RECORD THAN DENVER THE BRONCOS HAVE THE OPTION TO SWAP FIRST ROUND PICKS.
Actually, according to the Denver Post there are four different scenarios that can happen as a result of that trade depending on how the players perform.
1) the two teams exchange first-round picks
2) the teams exchange first-rounders, and the Broncos get a fourth-rounder in 2008
3) the teams exchange first-rounders, and the Broncos get a third-rounder next year
4) or the Broncos get a third-rounder in 2007 and a fourth-rounder in 2008.
As of now, the most likely scenario is Denver getting the Redskins' third-rounder in 2007 and their fourth-rounder in 2008.
So it looks like Washington will keep their first rounder in 2007.
