McCauley's disappointing senior season
Fresno State corner back Marcus McCauley had a disappointing senior season and was benched for his poor play. He was routinely beaten for big plays and didn't record an interception.
McCauley blames his poor performance on distractions and Fresno State head coach Pat Hill said it is common to see agents hanging out in the parking lot outside of the Bulldogs locker room. With teams placing a greater emphasis on character when ranking players, this can only hurt McCauley.
McCauley has the size (6-1, 205 lbs) and speed (4.4 in the 40) to be a dominating corner in the NFL, but is he still a first rounder after his poor senior campaign?

I have been at every single home game McCauley suited up for. Up until this year I thought he'd be a great prospect and probably a number one pick. But in the 2006 season he was awful! Really awful. If he underperforms as a senior against garbage opposition like Utah State, Idaho State, New Mexico State andColorado State how many years will it take him to adjust to the NFL. I think he's over rated. If there is any Fresno State player that should go ahead of him it's Dwayne Wright, the running back.
