I think the bowl win really sollidified it.
He'll probably go in RD1, but I don't think he'll be very good his first year. I see him really coming on in his 2nd and 3rd year, though.
I'm thinking the Packers may take him, but I'm not sure if he'll fall. Right now- I wouldn't mind taking him.
The kid's a hoss! Qucik accurate passes and a cannon for right throwing limb.
Did you see how lineman and linbackers were bouncing off him like a pinball.
Some say he might be a #12 pick which would put him on the Bills. Yes, I would love that one.
Al Davis wants him and Al Davis will get him.
I see both him and Quinn slipping a bit on draft day, like Leinhart did last year.
I bet he slips down to around 10th before getting nabbed, which will play in nicely for some lower picking teams. They'll get a steal at that spot.
There is no way he "slips" to number 10. At worst he's top 6. The guy is a legit 6'6" - 4 1/2 to 5 inches taller than the 6'3" Brady Quinn and he's got a gun. Doesn't always make the right decisions but he's improving. Leinart slipped because he didn't have all of the physical tools - JaMarcus has them all and there's too much potential for someone not to grab him very early.
russell or quinn will go #1. period. you guys are crazy for thinking he wont go in the top 5
JaMarcus Russell -- all 6-foot-6, 257 pounds of him will be wearing Silver and Black in 2007. Once we get rid of Moss and Porter, we may even nab another first round pick. What are the odds of nabbing both Russell and Calvin Johnson? Pretty low, but that make us Raider fans go "stupid dumb and hyphy" here in the Bay. (Wishful thinkin')
Well in my opinion he is the bets player in this draft his has a massive frame, cannon arm a top player and best of all i think he is NFL ready which should help him succeed in the NFL early in his carrer day 1st or 2nd season.
As a LSU fan I feel sad to see him leave but there is no way you can think he won't be top 3 if not first overall.
Size, strength and a winning attitude much more than what the Raiders, Lions and Browns have now.
To think he'll fall is crazy.
If he drops to #8, he'll be a Texan.
Perfect fit for the Raiders. Al Davis loves big guys, and he is a DE playing QB. Who would you rather have when you've got OAK's O-line, Quinn or Russell? The guy can run, throw, and take a hit (which he will have to do a lot of). Best fit for Oakland.
Perfect fit for OAK @ #1. He Can run from pass rushing DE's. He can take hits from unblocked LBs. He can throw deep and accurately to sorry WRs & TEs that cant seem to get open underneath. What else can Al Davis ask for?
Russell is the only colege QB that has a chance of playing in the pros next year. Everyone compares him to Culpepper and that's probably accurate. I only hope whoever drafts him does their due diligence on his ability to look off receivers and understanding when not to throw into double cover; otherwise he IS Culpepper.
Look JaMarcus "the beast from the bayou" Russell is goin #1. I belive Moss will get up and play for Russell, having flashbacks of Minesotta with Culpepper. Besides if Al hires Sarkisian from USC who has proven he can mold QB's, look at Palmer, Leinart, and Booty who no one knows but had an outstanding Rose bowl performance. The raider offence might actually score more than 10 touchdowns next season. Think about it.
