Miami's Greg Olsen going pro

University of Miami junior tight end Greg Olsen signed with agent Drew Rosenhaus and will make himself eligible for April's NFL draft.

Rosenhaus believes Olsen will be a first round pick.

''The information I'm getting is that he'll be a first-round pick,'' Rosenhaus said. "He's got rare ability -- great size and speed for the position. He's very athletic. We're confident he will be an impact rookie.''

It's more likely that Olsen will be a second round pick. Robert Davis rates him as his second best TE prospect.

Olsen had a poor senior season, I doubt he goes in the first round.

Benjamin S. McDaniel writes
I recently spoke to a Tennessee Titans scout at the Georgia Tech/ Miami game, he was obviously their for Calvin Johnson and he said that Olsen couldn’t block to save his life. He has above average hands and athletic ability, but he shouldn’t even be grouped with the previous Tight Ends from Miami,Franks, Shockey, and the one who he said did everything great...Winslow...he went so far as to say that Winslow blocked with passion that is rare to see in athletic Tight Ends, he was by far the best Miami TE

I agree with you Ben.

Olsen will most lekly go in RD3 and that's where he fits. He could become a good redzone target and overtime, actually become a good overall TE.

To me, he looks really spoiled- like he just wants everythign handed to him and he doesn't have the drive you look for in any good football player.

I wouldn't mind the Packers taking him in RD3 and with TT (our GM) we'll most likely have at least two 3rd round picks, which is always sweet.
