Kiper thinks Brady Quinn could fall to the Dolphins

Mel Kiper recently reported that "Brady Quinn could slide to the Dolphins with the ninth pick."

His reasoning... if the Lions draft Thomas and Browns select Peterson, the teams drafting fourth though eighth are all likely to pass on Quinn.

While a slide could happen, think Aaron Rodgers in 2005, it's more likely that another team would trade up to grab Quinn before the Dolphins pick. The Texans, with rumors swirling of Carr's departure, would also have a hard time passing on Quinn with the eighth pick.

I'm sure Carolina will be making enquiries with Minnesota, Houston and Miami about moving up from 14th.

with moss on the way out, calvin johnson is very likely for the raiders all of the sudden (which is unfortunate.. talent like that doesn't deserve to play in a place so completely devoid of talent as oakland). if they do still go the qb route, quinn is a very unlikely pick because word around the block is that al davis LOVES jamarcus russell. the thinking is that the lions are finally going to do the smart thing and take joe thomas, the best OL in the draft. the only other team aside from cleveland (Reportedly smitten with adrian peterson) that would want quinn could be tampa bay, since gradkowski didn't do much and simms will likely bust hard again in 2007. redskins are looking D, the cardinals will look OL or D, minnesota should be looking for a WR, although they're another candidate to draft quinn (reports have stated that they're very interested in jeff garcia) , and then there's the texans, who are trying to get jake plummer. and with the 9th pick of the 2007 nfl draft, the miami dolphins select... brady quinn.

Let the Raiders take him; i'm just hoping Quinn doesn't land in Cleveland. As a Browns fan I couldn't stand to see them ruin another young QB behind a underachieving line the way they ruined Tim Couch.

growing up in northern ohio a huge notre dame fan i could not agree more. the browns have a bad run game and suspect receivers. I dont want to see my boy brady go down that road. Hopefully they hold out and try to get troy smith in the second round!!

The Raiders will pick JaMarcus Russell because they need a quarterback really bad and that is the most important position in football

the detroit lions will take Brady quinn because the lions need a quarterback who can do it all i think if they choose quinn they will turn it all aroung just like the jets did this year

The Lions Offensive line shouldn't be the first priority if they get a guy like Lenord Davis in FA it will be good. Unless Russell is available they should go Defense.(Alan Branch)

I think even if the raiders trade Moss before the draft they will take Russell unless CJ has extremly good combine #s.

It does not matter who the lions draft, because they will kill the career of that player. If nothing else, Matt Millen is consistent.

The Raiders will definetly trade Moss to the Falcons for Schaub and then pick up Calvin Johnson with their pick or trade it to move down just a little, think about it. So Quinn will definetly possibly fall even past the dolphins pick.

Oh ho and in Detroit Kitna is a pro bowl Quarterback the defense is getting better ya'll need a running back or a line.

Quinn will not fall to them, they traded for Culpepper and now this, if Quinn falls he can sit for a year like Palmer and then rid of Culpepper for a 4th or 5th back to the Vikings.

Being a Raiders fan i know first hand how badly we need offense. QB is the franchise changing player but being so hit and miss these days i am coming around to the idea of Calvin Johnson #1. He seems to be a lock at being a superstar; and with freakish like talent the sky is the limit with this kid.

I could see him sliding all the way to carolina or jville. I can't see miami giving up on culpepper after 1 season that he was placed in the line up prematurely.

This is possible but I think it's ridiculous. Brady Quinn is a lot better than JaMarcus Russel. I think neither JaMarcus Russel or Brady Quinn will be drafted into the top 3 draft picks. #1) The raiders will probably trade Randy Moss and/or Joey Porter so they'll need a WR. The guy to replace one of them is Calvin Johnson.

#2) The lions have a good gun slinger in John Kitna. That's why they're Not going to draft a QB.

#3)The bucs or browns might take him. But the bucs still have the courageous Chris Simms which never had a chance this season. The browns had 2 QBs that showed flashed of a good QB, Charlie Frye and Derek Anderson. They'll predictably get a third qb, which will be Troy Smith

Lions will not touch Quinn (he reeks of Joey Harrington), but they like Thomas at OT, or might trade down (since they need everything). Adrian Peterson is a possibility at No. 2 or RB Marshawn Lynch (if they trade down a bit).

Kitna is a horrible Quarterback.
What will the Lions do, just keep signing 35 year old QB's to keep for a year or two and still suck. You have got to be kidding me. Under Martz, Quinn would thrive, he has the quick reads and all the potential to be a more athletic Peyton Manning. He is pro ready and doesn't need to prove anyone. They are fools if they don't draft Quinn. Joe Thomas is great, but reminders of Robert Gallery still are in peoples head. His combine hasn't been all that great so far. So who could tell, plus he is injury prone. Whats worse than a lineman who sucks, a lineman who can't play. So when it comes down to who we should draft, I say Quinn in the first, and a OT or DE in the second.

Detroit Lions? They SUCKED before Joey - they SUCK now! Joey wasn't the problem. Joey lit them up on Thanksgiving if I remember correctly with that other scrub team he played for - the Fish - How can they keep Culpepper and Lemon and dump Harrington? Look Raiders - pick Harrington up and draft Jamarcus - keep Walter too. You will be set at QB for a long time. Work on the line!
