Packers unlikely to trade for Moss

Despite rumors and Favre's public request, the Packers now seem unlikely to trade for Randy Moss. First, there has been almost no internal discussion of Moss by the Packers. Second the Raiders are now rumored to want a second round pick for Moss.

It seems very doubtful that Packers GM Ted Thompson, who typicaly looks to acquire draft picks and build through the draft, would be willing to let go of a second rounder for a 30 year-old receiver with a huge contract and a ton of baggage.

I still thnik the packers should go after Moss. This might be the last superbowl run for the next decade because they will probably lose Brett Favre next years and they right now don't have the QB to take the job. So I think The packers should go after him and they'll go after a RB in the draft and they'll be ready for this coming season.

Sure, it would be great to see moss in a packers uniform after seeing in purple for so many years. but it just wouldnt be good, if the pack could trade a 3rd rounder for moss, maybe, but they would still be giving up a pick for a wr who is past his prime. it could work, and just as easily, it might not.

even with moss past his prime he is better than every reciever in the coming draft besides calvin johnson. Randy Moss is one of, if not the, best recievers of the past decade and put together with one of the best QBs in Favre it could spell Super Bowl....

You're all idiots. Moss has not been the same player who torced the Pack all the time for years. He's also a T-O type who isn't happy anywhere.

A Super Bowl run for the Packers? They were basically injury free last year, and still the only team they beat that had a winning record was the Bears (who gave an uninspired, last game of the regular season performance).

If Moss does go to the Packers, they will be a Playoff contender. With Brett Farve as QB and a big time WR like Moss, they will be a very good team. And the Packers are a very young team, so it will add more experence to the team. So this will be the best thing for the Packers to do.

I don't see the Packers going after Moss, even if it only costs them a 3rd rounder ... his potential production is simply too unpredictable ...

the Pack needs to address the TE position, as well as add key backups to three other positions.

I predict Ted Thompson will trade down in the first round (picking up a second 2nd-rounder), and then select a TE with their first pick (Zach Miller of ASU, or Greg Olsen of Miami) ... then, with their remaining day one picks, I believe they will go after a CB (Houston of Ark), WR (Gonzalez of OSU), and RB (Hunt of Penn State, or Leonard of Rutgers), in that order ... and each will become a vital role player next season ...

add those players to the talent already in place, and the Packers definitely have a chance to go very far into the playoffs (in 2007) ...

what many people don't seem to have noticed is just how productive Green Bay's OL became during the course of 2006, and that was with three rookies starting quite a few games (it was very impressive!) ... I believe they will be considered a top-5 OL by many next year ... in fact, I'll go out on a limb, and state that this unit will be considered the strength of the entire team.

There was one other key change (this one on defense) that also made a very positive impact; moving Jenkins to the starting RDE position ... for the life of me, I couldn't figure out why they didn't make that change during the Seattle game (or even earlier in the year), 'cause it was so obvious to everyone (during that game) ... they eventually made that change a week or two later, and it made a huge difference; this fixed the biggest (and really only major) problem on defense; I believe the secondary's communication problems are now resolved, so I don't see that as a legitimate issue.

Anyway, the Packers are really only a few good players away from contenting for the Super Bowl ... Moss could help, if he was motivated and "happy", but there is no way to guarantee that ... they need to fix the TE issue first and foremost, and then add key CB, WR and RB backups.

The Packers just happened to win 8 games while being the youngest team (age) in the National Football League. Put that in your pipe and smoke it.

Moss in GB would work because he, like every WR in football, has the utmost respect for Favre. There is nothing wrong with Moss. He is the same WR as before, he simply has no motivation as he thinks there's no chance to win in Oakland. And the fact that he was voted the team captain last year by his teammates would seem to show he's not the cancer in the lockeroom that T.O. is. 30 is far from "out of his prime". Harrison is 35 and is going strong. Oh, and Driver is 2 years older than Moss as well.

Come to Jacksonville Moss....I really wouldn't mind giving our 2nd rounder for him we're sitting at 17 right now. It would be a great deal for both teams.

Getting randy moss would be a very good thing for the packers. Adding moss to the line up with jennings and donanld driver, then maybe trading fergouson and a 2nd round draft pick, after all the best players can occur any time during the draft now a days. these reciever would do some damage. think of what the colts have with thier three recievers. the only reason why randy moss's stats have been down is because he hasn't had a top quarterback to throw him the ball. and with the young defense coming up, the packers should be looking for a top outside line backer with nick barnett and A.J Hawk or a hard hitter on safety. Its not too late for brett favre to make to another super bowl. john elway won it in his 16th and 17th year.

moss in greenbay would be a great additon how ever the pack do not need moss they got driver, jennings, and koren robenison, moss would be a great addition but would be kinda a waste of money spend that money on a TE or A running back or a Strong Safty that can do both stop the run and the pass, Nick collins is amerging and lokke to have a great season next protentually a pro bowl year I wouldn't mind moss in green bay for maybe a trade with Frugerson

It is absolutely rediculous to assume that Moss' career is over simply because of poor production this year in Oakland, the worst team in the league. He is only 30 years old and now I feel that he will be hungry much like his rookie year to prove to all of the doubters that he is indeed still an elite reciever in the NFL. He could benefit any team with an established QB, like Favre, and a capable #2, like Donald Driver.

I am a Vikings fan and I know personally the Moss is a great player with a ton of upside but he can really be a jerk as well snd I can understand why a GM would not what Moss's attitude on his team.

I think the pack should give up the first round pick for moss because that would give favre more weapons. and giving favre more weapons would be a big mistake for any team

You mean after he acted like he was pulling down his pants to the people at lambeau field, the pack would think about him there? The fans would hate him!

Id gladly give up Minnesotas 2nd rounder for Moss, without hesitation.

I think moss would be worth a third round pick and robert ferguson. IF we still think we can upgrade at safety and rb in the draft. there isn't much talent at te in the draft this year, other then greg olsen, that is worth a first round pick.

production isn't in question because favre to moss would be a dream come true for both players. let them have their fun for favre's (potentially) last season.
