Dwayne Jarrett runs a 4.62 40-yard dash

Dwayne Jarrett ran a 4.62 and a 4.67 40-yard dash today at USC's Pro Day. Jarrett is certainly the slowest of the top receivers in the draft.

Jarrett's supporters will tell you he has 'game speed' and the 40 time doesn't matter. His critics will compare him to another big, slow receiver from USC, former first round bust Mike Williams. Right now Jarrett appears to be a late first round pick.

dwayne jarrett is a BEAST.

he will be a killa in the pros, 40 means nothing

look at emmit smith and jerry rices 40.

Larry Fitzgerald ran a 4.63 40 yard dash, and last I checked he's doing pretty good in the pro's.

Oh did I forget to mention his teammate Anquan Boldin ran a 4.7?

Jarrett is a different type of receiver than Mike Williams, he's also far more motivated. Mike Williams problem is being lazy, not his lack of ability... Williams got that NFL paycheck and decided to kickback and rest on his college laurels while he watches the Lions pay him that 10 million in guaranteed money.

If you've watched both receivers, you'd know they dont have the same style of game. If Jarrett goes to anyone past the 15th pick he will be a steal.

you can't go againt production....second round sleeper. I don;t know about you guys, but I would take Steve Smith from USC over Jarrett. He has just been biger his whole career, smith actually played hard!

That's horrible that just because he went to the college as Mike Williams, he's going to bust like him. Jarrett didn't skip a year of football....

Jarrett is just another overated usc reciver like every other one to come to the NFL. speed is the NFL now yes guys have done well without great 40's but they are though guys and jarrett is not one of those. if he was physical like the arizona recivers I would love him in the top ten but he is not. i'm not saying he is a sure bust but he does not fit the NFL mold so to big of a risk. in the first round unless you allready have a steve smith (CAR) or someone comparable.

The biggest reason that it is not the same as jerry rice and michael irvan is the fact the the NFL is so muck faster now than it was ten years ago. with average line backers that run 4.50 40's to have a reciver that is outmatched by the average line backers is just not smart football.

Why draft dwayne Jarrett in the first when you can draft Sidney Rice or Anthony Gonzalez in the second round. they have better physical tools and will not cost as much seems like a smarter plan.

Yeah, how about comparing him to another big slow receiver from USC...a guy with a Super Bowl ring, a couple of Pro Bowls, and more than 10,500 yards in his career...a guy named Keyshawn Johnson.

jarrett from what ive seen of him is cocky and doesnt seem like a high character guy. some teams will probably pass on him because of that. Having said that, he is a big tall kid and can clearly catch the ball well. I can't really forcast how well the kid will do because, well i dont know him personally and am not able to know his desire for the game. I dont expect him to slip that far though. Mid to late 1st- early second at latest is what i say

To every Jerry rice there is a hundred mike williams. The new NFL will be looking for the steve smiths of the world. The nfl's biggest corner cant defend speed but the smaller faster coner backs being more athletic can defend the bigger slower recievers. Jerry Rice ran the nfl's greatest routes and Micheal Irvin had some of the best hans, two intagibles that Jarred does not posses.

what are you talking about?

Jarrett has the softest hands out of all the recievers in the draft, watch some tape before you speak.

that is sick! Can't believed you want to compare him to "no Hands" keyshawn Johnson. One of the worst first pick in NFL History. He got his super bowl ring because he was lucky enough to get put on a team like the bucs. Where the defense led them to a ring!

Jarrett is a bum and will be a bum in the NFL. 40's DO mean something or else they wouldn't be timed, boneheads.

What are you talking about? Did the forty matter when they were playing michigan and the "BEST" corner in the draft was sticking him the whole game, he was getting double teamed WITH the best CORNER in the draft and still doing whatever he pleased. They were throwing him the ball everytime like 10 plays in a row. What happend there?

all of yall are funny to me,jarret faced three of the corners that are slated as first round picks. leon hall who is #1 off the board at CB, Chris Houston whos is either 2nd Or 3rd off the board and Aaron Ross, who had help defending him by last years 7th overal pick michael Huff and he torched two of the three. Chris Houston is the only defender who had a good showing against him. he torched Hall and Ross in the two biggest games of his career. Mike Williams sat out a whole year and came to the workouts out of shape and overweight. Jarret had the best numbers posted by any of the recievers. and dominated every big game he partcipated in. from Notre dame last year to the Texas lost in the championship game to notre dame this yea,r to the michigan game where he once again dominated. so i guess the play on the field no longer matters once you start looking at 40 times and things of that nature. football is played in pads and helmets not track shoes and spandex tights.

Dwayne jarrett has better hands than calvin johnson. Calvin johnson may be a better receiever but dwayne jarrett has better hands. CJ drops easy passes sometimes even though he makes ridicolous ones.

DJ is sick.

So all you haters must be Michigan fans.... or Cal fans..... or any fan of any team USC has wooped on these past 5 Seasons.... Tell me who Georgia Tech played last year? what great corners did calvin johnson beat this year? how many HUGE games has calvin johnson come up with when they mattered most? intangables are good but thats in "track shoes and spandex". In the end both of these guys will be great but Jarett will be the better of them.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JUU_A9ZTmyk just for you homie who put up the video of CJ
