Florida's pro day - Nelson improves stock

According to Gil Brandt of NFL.com, Reggie Nelson was impressive during Florida's Pro Day and improved his stock.

Nelson ran the 40 once in a time of 4.35 seconds. He had a 35-inch vertical jump, a 10-foot-6 long jump, ran 4.15 in the short shuttle and 6.70 in the three-cone drill. Nelson looked very good in the drills and may well have improved his stock.

Nelson was overshadowed at the combine by Laron Landry's impressive performance, but still should be a first round pick and has a good chance of being the second safety off the board.

Reggie Nelson in Kiper's top ten

Florida safety Reggie Nelson sits at number 7 on Mel Kiper's latest big board. Nelson has been one of the hottest prospects over the last few months and it shouldn't surprise anyone if he's the top safety selected in the 2007 NFL draft.

Nelson is an attacking safety with big time playmaking ability. He delivers big hits and isn’t afraid to lend help in support. Nelson’s biggest impact comes with his ability to make plays on the football. He has a nose for the ball, and really goes after the ball when it is in the air.

Florida juniors consider NFL draft

Four University of Florida underclassmen have sent in paperwork to the NFL's Draft Advisory Committee to see where they would project to go in April's draft. Linebacker Brandon Siler, wide receiver Andre Caldwell, defensive end Jarvis Moss, and safety Reggie Nelson are all considering the 2007 NFL draft.

According to previous reports, Nelson will enter the draft and should be a first round selection. It's unknown at this time what the other three will do. Purely speculation, but expect Siler and Caldwell to go pro and Moss to return.
