The Titans are working to acquire Chargers running back Michael Turner and Lions wide receiver Mike Williams. - tennessean.com

The Raiders are shopping Randy Moss for a 2nd round pick. The Green Bay Packers and New England Patriots are believed to have talked with the Raiders, but neither was willing to give up a 2nd. - sfgate.com

The Detroit Lions organization met Friday and concluded that, unless a blockbuster trade offer comes their way, they will draft Georgia Tech wide receiver Calvin Johnson. - NFL.com

That blockbuster trade could be with the Bucs. The Lions would swap picks with the Bucs in the first round for the Bucs two 2nd round picks. The Bucs haven't decided if they will give up that much, but might pull the trigger if Johnson is there. - ESPN

What top prospect could surprise and fall out of the first round? Both Alan Branch and Reggie Nelson are possible suspects. Various sources are reporting their draft stock is falling rapidly. Both were once considered top 10 players. Now they could fall to the end of the first or even farther.

The Cleveland Browns are shopping Braylon Edwards. - Cleveland.com

Falcons owner orders GM to move up and draft CJ

Sports Illustrated's Don Banks is reporting that Falcons owner Arthur Blank has 'ordered' general manager Rich McKay to do everything possible to trade up and draft Calvin Johnson.

The Falcons obviously have a strong interest in Johnson. They would love to keep the local kid home in Atlanta and give Vick his first legitimate number one wide receiver. The Falcons also have seven picks in the first four rounds giving them the ammunition to make a trade.

The Broncos are obviously interested in
Calvin Johnson and this trade won't happen if the Raiders select Johnson with the first pick in the draft or trade the pick to the Bucs who would select Johnson.

Bucs in talks with Raiders for first pick

There is speculation around the league that Tampa Bay is going to make a run at the first pick in the draft in order to select Calvin Johnson. One rumor has the Bucs offering all four of their first day picks (Nos. 4, 35, 64 and 68 overall) to the Raiders in exchange for the number one pick.

It's no secret that the Bucs want Johnson and they will continue to talk to both the Raiders and Lions about moving up.

According to the Houston Chronicle, the Texans are expected to trade for Falcons quarterback Matt Schaub. A league official says a deal could be imminent. No word on what the Texans would give up in the trade, but a second or third rounder is a possibility.

Bucs interested in Randy Moss

It looks like another team is entering into Randy Moss trade discussions. According to the St. Pete Times, the Bucs are interested in Oakland receiver Randy Moss.

This latest Moss rumor seems pretty unlikely. The Bucs would have major problems fitting Moss into their salary cap. Also, it would be surprising to see Gruden put another difficult receiver on his team after his problems with Keyshawn Johnson a few years ago.

Redskins and Broncos could swap picks in Bly deal

According to the Washington Post, Denver and Washington are currently in trade talks centering around Dre Bly. One rumor has the Broncos sending Bly and a first and second round pick to the Redskins in exchange for the sixth overall pick in the draft.

The Broncos and Redskins have been frequent trade partners in the past and Dre Bly continues to request a trade to Washington, so expect some kind of deal to happen soon. Another rumor has Bly being moved for Ladell Betts.

Jets consider acquiring Lions pick

The Journal News is reporting there were unconfirmed rumors that the Jets were thinking of swapping their first pick, 25th overall, and a defensive starter, to the Lions for the second overall pick.

We have to assume the 'defensive starter' is linebacker Jonathan Vilma as his name has been the subject of many trade rumors the last few weeks.

Falcons and Texans jockeying for Browns' pick

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution is reporting that both the Atlanta Falcons and Houston Texans are interested in the Browns third overall draft choice. The Falcons want Calvin Johnson and the Texans are after Adrian Peterson.

Apparently, the Browns would want Matt Schaub, the 10th pick overall, and a first rounder in 2008 from the Falcons. The Texans have Carr, the 8th pick overall, and additional picks to offer.

Aaron Rodgers for Randy Moss?

ProFootballTalk.com is reporting of a rumored trade that would send Oakland Raiders receiver Randy Moss to the Green Bay Packers for quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

Apparently trade talks between the Raiders and Packers for Moss are back on again. This rumor has the Raiders asking for a first rounder for Moss and the Packers countering with Aaron Rodgers.

Vikings will offer 2nd rounder for Schaub

According to the St Paul Pioneer Press the Vikings will offer a second round pick and possibly Brad Johnson to the Falcons for Quarterback Matt Schaub.

If the Vikings make this offer, the Falcons would have to give it serious consideration. A high 2nd round pick would be great value for Schaub.

Dolphins interested in Trent Green

The Dolphins would have interest in acquiring Kansas City's Trent Green if placed on the trading block by the Chiefs, a source said at the NFL Scouting Combine. Green played under Cam Cameron when both were with Washington from 1995 to 1998 and is familiar with Cameron's offensive system.

There are no indications Green is currently being shopped by Kansas City. But after re-signing quarterback Damon Huard to a three-year contract they may choose to part ways with Green.

Lions listening to trade offers for 2nd pick

The Detroit Free Press is reporting the Lions are listening to trade offers for the 2nd overall pick in the NFL draft. According to Matt Millen, he's talking to teams that are interested in JaMarcus Russell and Brady Quinn.

Trading down and acquiring more draft choices makes a lot of sense for the Lions, a team that has many holes to fill. Also, they don't seem to be interested in any of the top players in the draft except for Joe Thomas.

Falcons to shop Schaub

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports the Falcons will look to trade QB Matt Schaub. Schaub, a restricted free agent, is expected to receive a one-year tender of $2 million and compensation attachment of a first and third pick to prevent teams from signing him as a free agent.

Since Schaub will become an unrestricted free agent in 2008, the Falcons will shop the talented back up quarterback around the league this off-season. They could net a second or third rounder. The Vikings, Raiders, and Texans are all possible trade partners for Schaub.

Broncos' Bell, Plummer for Houston's first?

The Denver Post is floating a rumor which has the Broncos sending Jake Plummer, Tatum Bell, and draft picks to the Texans in exchange for Houston's first round pick (8th overall).

This sounds like pure speculation from the writer, but we felt we'd pass it along in case it has more substance. It also suggests that Bell is on the block and Plummer has certainly played his last down as a Broncos QB.

The Broncos are rumored to want Adrian Peterson and they'll need a trade like this to have any shot at him. Although, if Peterson is available at the 8th spot, the Texans would jump at the chance to grab him, which makes this trade scenario even less likely.

Packers unlikely to trade for Moss

Despite rumors and Favre's public request, the Packers now seem unlikely to trade for Randy Moss. First, there has been almost no internal discussion of Moss by the Packers. Second the Raiders are now rumored to want a second round pick for Moss.

It seems very doubtful that Packers GM Ted Thompson, who typicaly looks to acquire draft picks and build through the draft, would be willing to let go of a second rounder for a 30 year-old receiver with a huge contract and a ton of baggage.

Vikings to trade for Larry Fitzgerald?

St. Paul Pioneer Press is reporting the Vikings may try and boost season ticket sales by trying to acquire Minneapolis native Larry Fitzgerald.

The deal would send the Vikings first pick, 7th overall, and players to the Cardinals in exchange for Fitzgerald.

This seems pretty far fetched. Why would the Cardinals want to trade Fitzgerald? Plus the Vikings could make a bigger splash trading up in the draft to grab Calvin Johnson.

Carr done in Houston, Plummer to lead Texans?

Reports out of Houston have the Texans parting ways with quarterback David Carr and acquiring Jake Plummer to lead the team in 2007.

If Plummer and Carr are traded, what will they return to their respective teams and who will take a chance on Carr?

The Broncos would love to get a 4th rounder for Plummer, but it's doubtful he'll go for more then a 5th. The Texans seem to be the only team with much interest.

Carr has more value as some think the problem with Carr was his porous offensive line. The Texans are rumored to want a 3rd round pick for Carr and might be able to get it. Both Carolina and Jacksonville could be interested.
