"The Steelers concluded their visits with draft prospects Friday, and conspicuous by his absence from the 20-player list was North Carolina State quarterback Philip Rivers.
Rivers is the player many draft analysts are linking to the Steelers and the 11th overall choice in the first round. He has heard the talk, and he likes it, but he's not ready to bet an advance on his $7 million signing bonus that he will end up in Pittsburgh as the eventual replacement for Tommy Maddox."

"Another puff of smoke arose from the South Side on Tuesday when the Steelers entertained quarterback prospect Ben Roethlisberger.
It's no secret that the Steelers are seriously considering taking a quarterback with their first draft choice (11th overall) April 24. If that's the direction the team decides to take, Roethlisberger or Philip Rivers of North Carolina State would be the choice.
Steelers coach Bill Cowher attended Rivers' campus workout earlier this spring. Tulane quarterback J.P. Losman visited the Steelers' practice facility last week, but Losman is destined to be picked in the latter part of the first round or early in the second.
The Steelers appear to be one of the few teams at the top of the draft looking to draft a quarterback, and Roethlisberger said he has met with all of them. Pittsburgh, however, is the only one of those teams to invite Roethlisberger for a visit.
With so many elite prospects at the top of this draft, Roethlisberger, who is under consideration by the San Diego Chargers for the first overall choice, could get pushed into the Steelers' lap."

Hmm, I guess Mel Kiper was right about Ben Roethlisberger going to Pittsburgh. Guess that guy really sucks. _________________
