Overview:
The defense is held down by the best defender of all time, Franz Beckenbauer, and probably the second best German defender, and possibly the best defender of his playing years, Jurgen Kohler. Karl-Heinz Schnellinger was one of the best left backs of his time, battling Nilton Santos and Silvio Marzolini [no idea how eh wasn't drafted] for the top spot. He's more than capable fo going forward, but with Pavel Nedved being the workhorse he is on the left side of the midfield, he will rarely do so. Cafu is the best attacking right back of all time. He'll be making bombing runs forward often.

Josep Guardiola is the prototypical deep-lying playmaker. He'll simply be staying deep and playing in the beautiful through balls he was known for. Rijkaard would be asked to play a dual role. He's one of the best midfield destroyers of all time, but was also ,more thn capable of going forward when it was deemed appropriate. Pavel Nedved is just a workhorse who will often drift out to the left to provide width to the team. Willing to attack, support the midfield and the attack, or even drop further deeper into the defense, he'll be asked to do all three. Rivaldo will have the same role as Nedved, except drifting out to the right and he won't be asked to drop as deep into the midfield as Nedved will be. Charlton is perhaps the finest attacking midfield of all time. He had a ferocious long shot, great passing ability, and was just a dominating player in his time.

Romario is simply one of the greatest poachers of all time. Called a "genius of the goal area" by his former coach Johan Cruyff, he just knew where the best position was to get the ball into the back of the net and was always there, scoring over 1000 goals in all matches through his career.

We would also play a 4-4-2, with Nedved as the LM, Beckham as the RM, and Charlton/Romario as the two strikers, with Charlton playing slightly deeper. Nedved would be the more attacking midfield in this formation, Beckham would sit deep playing in his trademark crosses, while Cafu made bombing runs past him into the attacker's side. Everything else is the same as the main formation.

Fernando Redondo will serve as the deep-lying playmaker, dictating the flow of the game with his crisp pinpoint passing and playing in through balls to the forwards, also capable of pushing up and taking on players himself, along with being a fantastic defender. Truly one of the most complete CMs of all time

The attack is lead by four top offensive players. All three of the established European players have won the Ballon D'Or at least once. Out of the three that have played in the World Cup (Di Stefano never played in one), they have scored a combined 23 goals in this prestigious tournament. My midfield will be manned by one of the most "aggressive" ball winners in football. Roy Keane will do exactly what Clough told him, win the ball and get it to my Ballon D'Or winners. His play will allow Gullit and Platini to roam free and support my strikers and wingers in attack. Morever, Gullit's versatility and experience at libeiro will allow him to pop back in support and be effective while doing so. My defense will be lead by two of best libero of all time. Passarella is one of the highest scoring CBs ever with 134 goals in his career. Alongside him is the elected Milan Player of the Century, Baresi. Supporting them will be 3 time World Cup All-Star team player, Djalma Santos and the bearded legend, Paul Breitner.

Another aspect of my team is the intangibles. Many of my players were captains that lead their teams to championships. Di Stefano is the man whose class, leadership and influence defines thze dynasty of Real Madrid we see today. Baresi was named captain of Milan at the young age of 22 and captained the club to multiple Serie A crowns. Other leaders include Roy Keane whose leadership created a United dynasty in the 2000s, Platini and Gullit who captained each teams European Championship campaign, Passarella, who captained Argentina's first World Cup win. Other players such as Baggio, Breitner have all captained big clubs such as Juventus and Bayern Munich respectively.

Overview:

My defense is manned by 4 of the best 5 italian defenders/keeper of all time. It certainly isn't a very adventurous defense and it's more of a flat back 4, however, it would be obscenely hard to break down. Souness is my midfield enforcer, but is also considered a 'complete' midfielder. Is role will be to break up any attacks and link the play from defense to midfield. He is pretty much the perfect partner to the brilliantly talented Ladrup. Who is considered by many, one of, if not the greatest creative midfielder of all time. Laudrup playing the ball into my front 4 would be filthy. My front 4 pretty much speaks for itself. Although Messi appears to be a RM in this formation he will essentially be given a free role to roam across the pitch where he likes. Giggs will tirelessly partol the left wing giving us an excellent width. Henry is sat sightly behind Van Basten and can role over into the left or right wing position if additional support is necessary. Van Basten will do what he does best, score goals from the ridiculous number of chances my team will create. Really its pretty self explanitory, I'm putting all of my players in a position to play at their best. There is no point re-creating the wheel when each and every one of them have proven they are legendaary at their specific positon and role.

Batistuta and Eusebio have a powerful shot, they can score with their head or any way that you choose. The power of Batistuta and quickness of Eusebio are great matches in more than enough space in the box. Didi and Iniesta have the speed to push from the wings at midfield and the wizard like pass ability to get it to any one of them with percision. Matthaus mans the middle and he's the undisputed best box to box defensive midfielder to ever play the sport. He'll win almost ever ball. Having him and Didi's great speed is just like having 5 defenders. Add the goal scoring of Iniesta and Matthaus makes it 1400 goals. Around 1500 club goals with these players on the pitch. Lothar Matthaus can also push forward and pass along with the other midfielders. The centrebacks are outstanding and the one on the right named Gentile kept Maradona from the 82 World Cup scoresheet vs Italy with just manning him all the match. Left centreback is Forster and at his peak he was one of the best man defenders of his era. Adams is the captain who has more than 20 years of playing for Arsenal along with many for England and with both of them he was rock solid on defense. These centrebacks along with Matthaus and Didi do really make it like having 5 defenders. Actually it's just like six, the 4 time UEFA Goalkeeper Of The Year Schmeichel mans the goalposts. There you have it now, immense legends meet a very solid formation. Huge offense without any give on defense.

Batistuta would be the extra forward and Eusebio would then have even greater space in getting his passes from 4 extremely talented midfielders. Great defense and huge offense as well.
