I do not think I have any cavities, I see my dentist in a few weeks. We will find out in a few weeks.
Optimism is good, we will see in March. |

| Its better than hearing that "No progress has been made." If Nick is excited about playing football again it says that his mind is right and he isn't afriad to get back out there. That itself is half the battle. |

I don't care if this doesn't clear anything up, it just raises my confidence that he's going to come back. At this point i'm going to assume he comes back. If he can come back and play like he did before the injury it improves our defense so much. _________________

I posted this a bit ago in TAPT for a couple reasons.
Firstly, the quote is vague and secondly the quote only states Collins's aspirations to play if he's cleared, no real news from a medical standpoint.
With that said, sounds promising?
| Quote: | | I get the official ok in March but I expect to be back and I can’t wait (to play again). I’ve been working out and I don’t have any restrictions (lifting weights) except for real heavy weight on my neck, other than that I’ve been working out like a beast to get ready to play again. |

Does your career depend on the health of your teeth?
Are you doing daily rehab to get your teeth in a position where you can work again?
Is the frequency by which your teeth are checked greater than six months?
That's one of the worst comparisons I've ever heard. _________________

I've always kind of thought he would come back, and now I really think he will! Hopefully...but as previously stated, this isn't a doctors approval of any kind, but if he expects to be back, I expect him to be back. _________________

I think you're missing his point. His point seems to be an allegorical reference that he won't know his teeth (neck) were officially ok until he sees the dentist (doctor) and while they may feel good to him, he won't know if he has a cavity (fully operational neck) until the dentist tells him so.

Don't most peeps brush/floss their teeth multiple times per day?

Not sure I understand the logic here.
He is saying that we won't know until the experts have their say. The doctor for Collins said we won't know until we see in March how his body has healed. Collins doesn't know one way or the other but is optimistic until he finds out for sure.
What I find encouraging about this, is that he is optimistic. If he was pessimistic he may not be training hard. |

Yeah really.
Nick is probably getting pretty consistent feedback from his physician about how is neck is doing and where he's at. I'm sure he has a reason to be positive that's based on more than his own inclincation.
Nick Collins isn't sitting and waiting for a doctor to tell him how his neck is doing. He's very, very likely had several medical check ins and knows his progress.
This isn't a blind lottery, it's the last step in a logical progression of medical treatment. It's not a coin flip, it's a piece of the rehab puzzle... not a check in. _________________

Umm, I did not make any comparisons. You are taking my comments out of context. It is ok, seriously, it is ok. |

Bob, you are too logical. Not sure you belong in this forum!
I think everyone in the forum is hoping for the best for Collins. I hate the prospect of this defense improving dramatically next year unless we have old number 36 back there. I do not care what we get in the draft or free agents, I do not see this defense making enough of an improvement in this scheme unless we have a S of his caliber back there. |
