Hey drd23 could you find me and post the expected franchise tag figures for a HB and for an OG?

Thanks

Use the upper limit numbers (as they have been calculated if the cap was $125m, which it is in FFMD)

Carr's dead money if cut: $3.75m (i.e. no savings)
Foxworth's dead money if cut: 2.7m ($5.6m in savings)
Cundiff's dead money if cut: $2.4m (i.e. 400k savings which is less than it will cost to contract a new kicker)

- I wouldn't be opposed to trading Chris Carr if the other team would take all of his contract (including future pro-rated SB).
- Foxworth is def gone imo.
- Cundiff isnt worth cutting.
- I wouldn't cut Evans. We can pretend we'd use more 3WR sets where he'd see the field more
- I would put Harewood and Reed OTB and see what happens.

As for FAs, I agree with FM

Thank you for getting that list done Flaccomania.

I think we're all in agreement that Domonique Foxworth should be cut.

I would only trade Chris Carr, not cut him.

It also does not make sense to cut Cundiff despite making 2.8 million.

I disagree with the idea of cutting Lee Evans because we just traded a third round draft pick for him. He was injured, lets not just throw that pick away.

Otherguys I think can be cut:
Rodney Bradley - WR - $390K
D.J. Jones - OT - $390K
David Reed - WR - $490K
Emmanuel Cook - S - $490K

Ahh, thanks. I didn't quite understand where the cap hit if we cut them came from.

I agree with DRD on all aspects here. Though, with Evans I'm on the fence, though I love the guy. I just think (realistically) with how much Cam runs 2 WR sets, thats a lot of money to pay a #3 WR. Then again, this is FFMD and we have a much better OC on our squad than the real Ravens do, so maybe it's much better to keep Lee Smile

I agree with Harewood and Reed on the block, as well as Carr, and even Foxworth if someone wants him (doubtful).

It was a 4th round pick for Evans. But like I said in my OP, and in my post above this one -- he'd just be considered a necessity cut if we needed. Just wanted to put his name out there as a guy making a lot of $ who may not see the field often.

I didn't list guys like Bradly and Jones as I thought they were obvious cut candidates. Reed, I think we may be able to muster something up for him (even a late 7th; after all, he did lead the league in 2010 in KR average).

Cook is a guy I like a lot personally. Ever since we got him, he's been a great STer, always making tackles. I'd like to keep him if possible.

Not a problem. If you want him you got him because he's cheap.

But I do really want to say this. IMO Ben Grubbs should be the No. 1 priority for the Ravens even over Ray Rice and here's why:

We already had o-line issues last year and if Birk leaves or decides to retire in the next few days we'll be in even a worse o-line situation. He's our top o-lineman and he's young. I'd rather get rid of a guy like Bryant McKinnie, who is old and definitely replaceable, than Grubbs who is you best o-lineman and young with the potential to be an all-pro for years to come.

Also, consider this, a lot of what a running back does is based on how good the offensive line is so if we get rid of Grubbs that will hurt Ray Rice.

Also, the life-span for a running back is about 4 years...a good one can last until he's about 30 at a decently high level. We'll still have time with Rice but an OG can easily last until he's about 34 so we can have 7-8 years with Grubbs and maybe only 3-5 with Rice.

Running backs IMO are also easier to replace...just look at guys like LeGarrette Blount, Arian Foster, Peyton Hillis, BenJarvus Green-Ellis, Fred Jackson, Jamaal Charles, Brandon Jacobs, Ahmad Bradshaw, DeMarco Murray, Darren Sproles, Frank Gore

to my knowledge none of those guys were first or second round draft picks.

Hey coach can I get your opinions on Paul Krugar and Pernell McPhee and where you think they stand on this team right now and what role you think they are capable of filling?

Also, where would you personally put Andre Gurode...guard or center? If you had to pick only one.

I won't have enough time to be a reliable part of the staff but I'll offer my input on various things. Like always pretty much. Cool

Still have quite the bad taste in my mouth from last year's FFMD though, it was getting pretty testy between the Cowboys team and ours.
