http://www.profootballweekly.com/2012/02/14/fisher-whisenhunt-murphy-added-to-competition-comm

Rams HC Jeff Fisher
Cardinals HC Ken Whisenhunt
Packers CEO Mark Murphy

Already on Committee:
Rich McKay GM of the Atlanta Falcons
Cincinnati Bengals Head Coach Marvin Lewis
New York Giants owner John Mara
Baltimore Ravens general manager Ozzie Newsome
Houston Texans GM Rick Smith
Stephen Jones, son of Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones.

(Matt Millen and Jeff Fisher weren't replaced when they were fired and Bill Polian was just recently fired by Indianapolis. )

REMEMBER: The next time you want to point your finger at Roger Goodell and blame him for everything you hate about the NFL..... keep these people in mind. They make the rules.

Rich McKay is not our GM, he's our CEO.

McKay is president of Falcons not GM... but other than that it's cool.

It should have been obvious that some of the stupid shenanigans that the rule committee have pulled had the taint of Millen.

Football and blaming Roger Goodell, just go hands in hands.

Spitting into the wind, man. Spitting into the wind.

Valiant effort, though. Maybe one day, if we repeat it enough, they'll take heed. Maybe.

Guys...I need you to ix-nay on the Oger-Ra Oodell-Ga.

I have stock in a company that sells pitchforks and torches. That's my retirement fund. Next time James Harrison decapitates someone and gets suspended for it, I plan on making enough money to buy an island off the Florida Keys.

I need this. I need the hate to flow. One day, they WILL buy these pitchforks and torches, and I'll be SWIMMING in cash.

See, you got this all wrong! When the hate is confined to one person, people are going to buy, what, at most 1 pitchfork and maybe 2 torches? But if people actually realize there are more people involved, they'll buy more stuff! Can't just go after one dude. It's like pokémon - gotta catch 'em all! They'll probably buy 2 or 3 pitchforks and like 10 torches.

Yes and No. Goodell has a lot of influence over the committee. First he's the one that selects who is in the committee. Second he kind of sets the agenda for the committee. I.E. Look at this and come back to me with a ruling:

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=4792592

Quote:
"It is something we'll look at," Goodell said Sunday. "We heard the fans loud and clear. It's something our competition committee has looked at in the past, but we're going to ask our competition committee to look at it again in the future. We want every game to be competitive."

The committee does come up with solutions, but it's solutions to things that Goodell wants addressed...

Goodell is the root of all that is bad with the NFL.

Alright, you twist it that way, I'll twist it this way.
The owners hired Goodell to do what they want. Goodell got a big time extension for it.

Does he have an actual NFL job title with the Cowboys or did Jerry just pay someone off to have his son on this committee?
