I figured to make a place for things that may not be worthy of their own threads, but still worth posting. Almost like the 'Random Raiders' thread (that no one used even though they sometimes use TART for the same purpose)

Anyway, Carson Palmer did an interview on Ibabuzz.
http://www.ibabuzz.com/oaklandraiders/2012/02/29/palmer-speaks-for-first-time-since-season-ended/

I'll admit, I'm one of his bigger critics around here but reading this got me pumped. Sounds like he's bought in and has good chemistry with teammates and around the league. If he can be what Hue thought he could then *noise* this could be an exciting time. (Tank from the Matrix scene)

This is the first thing since Routt getting cut that has piqued my interest in this team or football, really.

I'm really excited about Palmer next season. When we first made the trade, I was furious. Then I thought about it more and once everything settled down I was actually happy with the move. We have beaten the horse to death talking about what contributed to Palmer having so many interceptions last season, so i wont even dive into that. However, just the thought of him working with the WRs over the offseason, then having a full camp and preseason really gives me a ton of confidence going into next season.

It sounds like Allen is sold on him as the starting QB, which is always a good thing. I'm guessing with Knapp back we wont have to see Carson throw it 40 times a game too often. If we can get another capable RB and get a good ground game going, Palmer is going to do some big things throwing the football.

Carson is a competitor and grinder. I have no worries about him. He's going to put in the work, be a leader and rally with his offense. That's what competitors do.

Anyone hating on Palmer for for his INTs last season is just blind. You line a QB up off the couch with no TC or work with his new team and expect perfect results is just dumb.

Palmer showed more positive as a leader and passer than any QB I've seen since Gannon. The INTs suck, but what do you expect given the situation?

Give him this season before you judge. He's owed that. The only reason people hate on him this early is because of the trade compensation, that's it.

I look forward to seeing how the offense clicks after an offseason and training camp together. I don't worry about the O that much.....the defense on the other hand.... scares me.

And in retrospect, I'm not even upset about the compensation. At first it was shocking, but looking back what do you expect? We were desperate, stuck with Boller as our QB for the remaining 10 games. We would have been in position to get last place in the division. Cincy knew our situation, and its as simple as supply and demand. Our dire need drove Palmer's value (for us, at least) way up. Had Campbell not been injured, they probably would have settled for less in a trade, but why wouldnt they try to get as much as possible when they know we needed a QB in a bad way? Losing a 1st and 2nd sucks, but having a franchise QB is something we have needed since we lost the Super Bowl.

My thoughts on Palmer really havent changed since we traded for him. Hes a good, not great QB, but we were in no position to negotiate. We needed someone in the worst way. We had to overpay or seriously risk losing the next ten games.

We gave up too much, but im over that. Now im excited to see what he can do with a good, young, fast WR core, and a full off season. Carson is a pros pro. He comes to work everyday, tries to get better, and tries to make his teammates better. He needs to cut down the INTs, obviously he wont get rid of them all together, but he needs to improve the bad decision INTs, the ones where your like what in the world were you doing. If he can do that we have the ability to be an elite offense, and we will probably have to have an elite offense with the defense we have.

+1

Well said. A lot of people will be singing a different tune later this year. I can't wait to see Palmer carve up some defenses Twisted Evil

He decided to post this on twitter...using religion to hide his hate and intolerance. I hope they cut him.

To be honest tho... Curry's tweets are a tad annoying in general. Thinking about unfollowing him, only like 5% are about the Raiders

I was also wondering if he might come back to the darkside.

Yep, love Aaron Curry the player because of his intensity and fire, but when it comes to him on twitter I cant stand it.
