It wouldn't shock me if we took Hill at 21. This feels a lot like the Joseph pick, in that a 2nd rd guy getting elevated after the combine whom the Bengals loved in the interview. I wouldn't do it, but it wouldn't shock me.

Hill has great measurables but not so great game tape. He has a high average per catch of course since GT doesn't throw much but he also has a lot of drops.

Hill doesn't have any baggage that I know of, but Henry had better tape. WVU was more of a passing team than GT is.

Hill blows him out of the water as far as run-blocking goes too. Hill was basically bred to do that at GT, where Henry was a woos about it.

No. Chris Henry had the game tape to be a first rounder, but all the off the field stuff droppped him to us.

Super high character, willing physical run blocker, elite athleticism, prototypical stature.....maybe we should take him at 21. I think his hands will be fine and you can teach route running when the receiver is willing.

I wouldn't just assume Hill will pick up routes in the NFL. At GT, he mostly just ran deep while the QB play faked. Between not running the full route tree and having inconsistent hands, I wouldn't take him before the 3rd round. Assuming a player can learn route running is what got Skeets Nehemiah signed and Johnny Lam Jones drafted in the top 5. They both flopped in the NFL.

I still believe the only first round WRs are Blackmon and Floyd.

Great call Sparky; never thought we'd get Nehemiah and JL Jones a shout out in a Bengals thread. Nice work.

Yeah, I meant that Henry had the baggage and Hill got the run blockin'.....

With this draft, I reckon MB will be putting pressure on Marvin et al to try sell some tickets.

I believe a stud WR in the first is a strong possibility, the Bengals obviously like Hill alot early in the process, and he will definately be on their board.

It all depends on the board really. If Kirkpatrick, Floyd, Decastro, Glenn, Jenkins, Poe, Kuechly are all gone before 21 and no one wants to trade up, options start running thin.

Yeah, lots of big tall WR's should be around in R3, R4...... just not too many big, tall WR's with 4.36 speed and a real good head for the run game.

==========================================================
Ex-Bengal Cris Collinsworth had this to say on GT WR Stephen Hil; (courtesy of 'bengals.com').........
==========================================================

One of the great draft day steals in Bengals' history; (Collinsworth); sees another wide receiver lurking that could be another robbery for the hometown team.

"Let me tell you something," says Cris Collinsworth of Georgia Tech's Stephen Hill, "you put him opposite A.J. (Green), what are you going to do? You're going to have to play seven against the run. You're not playing one of those guys without safety help. I wouldn't."

I have officially changed my mind since free agency began.

Stephon Gilmore and Stephen Hill at 17 and 21, unless Decastro slips thru.
