So now that we have our draft order, I have a few questions. When do we want to hold the draft and how many rounds do we want to have? the first year we did a 5 round FA and the last two years we did 7 rounds. I feel if we start our FA draft on Tuesday of next week we can do the FA draft before the rookie draft as we have previously and fit it all in. Otherwise we can start the Rookie Draft middle/end of next week and then just do the FA draft after (which will go through the NFL Rookie Draft).
Another idea I had is for the scoring system, if people were interested in it (and it is possible) I was wondering what people thought of me using Madden 12 and creating all the teams in the league and then siming games as the season goes on. Yea it isn't scientific and isn't perfect but then again neither is football so I thought it could be a fun idea. Then I could Youtube the games (or the highlights). |

I think the most important thing is to get the rookie draft done before the real draft. I'd rather prioritise that than the FA Draft. We already know (or have a good idea) where the FA's are going anyway so we won't really change anything by doing it after the rookie draft. _________________

2nd to last? I call conspiracy.
When I was in the top 6, I was 5th. Now at the end of the draft, I'm 5th again.

Do you think we can get both FA and rookie before the actual draft?
I'd suggest starting the rookie draft as soon as possible (I can help run it) so we can get the 5 or 6 rounds done before it starts.
As for scoring, I am VERY much against the Madden simulation. EA doesn't know jack about properly rating players (beyond the obvious few), and as a simulation it's trash. It's just not a good representation IMO.
I'll look at how he scored last year (Think he set up a team roster with who were starters and also backups that counted), and the team total points. Maybe we can figure out how he totaled the points.
I just think that this league is about actual NFL stats and performance, and should be graded as such. Injuries happen and can hinder or help a team. _________________

I agree with ruskie on the league. But we must start the rookie draft by Monday IMO. _________________

Ok I will set up the draft schedule tonight or tomorrow if I have time and send out PMs to every one.
And Ruskie that also means you pick #2 in the FA draft so I will swap picks with you in the 1st round of FA and Rookie |

I'll run one that's a good distance away from my team in terms of picks. I'm home from uni for Easter (or Spring Break as I think you Americans call it) so I've got plenty of time _________________

We really need to try and fill these empty spots...Is there a definite date we have for the drafts? _________________

I have not had time to set up the draft order (hurray 7am-12am work days) and wont be able to until Friday. So I think we can start the Rookie Draft on Wednesday and finish it long before the NFL rookie Draft starts.
As far as filling teams I really need help with that, I have been able to fill 3 teams (I have another person that will be taking over the San Fransisco Demons) so far but I am completely out of connections. the "ad" I posted on the main page got deleted so I need help filling the spots. We have 7 open teams so if we cant fill at least 3 of them then I think we need to drop 4 and we will have the few people that volunteered draft for 2 teams.
So that is the challenge we need to fill AT LEAST 3 more teams, and make sure they are staying because I cant put this much time into trying to revive dead teams every year. |

I am happy to run a second teams draft if needed. I did that last year and it was fine.
Since I have the last pick in the rookie draft, does that mean I have first pick in free agency? And if so, when does that start? In years past I thought we did the free agent draft first, but I could be mistaken.
Anyway, Im looking forward to this. _________________ "22 players are involved in every football play. To value precisely the activity of one of them, it is first necessary to account for the actions of the other 21" |

We did usually do the free agent draft before the rookie draft but the rookie draft is more important in terms of timing. And that should mean you have the first pick in the FA draft as well. _________________
