|
|
|
"Reidemption" mock, correcting many of the wrongs of the Andy Reid regime in a single offseason.
Free Agent acquisitions:
Amobi Okoye
6-2 292 Pass rushing DT that will be even more productive in Washburn's scheme. He'll be in rotation with Landri and will probably start by virtue of him having a higher salary.
Larry Grant
6-1 251 Restricted free agent signing. The 49ers gave him an original round tender so the Eagles gave him a contract offer that the 9ers wouldn't match. He'll be worked into the mix at ILB.
Zackary Bowman 6-1 196 lbs Experienced NFL CB from the Bears that appears to be a natural press man cornerback that doesn't do that for the Bears. He may be suffering from being misused. He'll be a press man CB for the Eagles.
Gary Gibson
6-3 312 DT Career reserve coming off a career high in sacks with 3 on the season. Perhaps Washburn can give his career an additional jolt.
Jerome Simpson 6-2 190lbs Explosive WR that finally got a chance to start last season. It was with a rookie QB in the west coast offense. He has a year of experience in the WCO, youth on his side, and can stretch the field. Andy will see this as another opportunity to help someone along in their career who has legal problems. He appears to be able to play next season. He'll be Jason Avant's replacement. He makes huge plays downfield from that same inside receiver position.
Devin Aromashodu
6-2 201 WR with a year of experience in the west coast offense and 4 years of NFL experience. He plays special teams so should provide quality depth at the position and he has the ability to get up field for the vertical heavy passing attack Vick executes.
Player resignings:
Derek Landri (Should have been the starter)
Evan Mathis (lights out in pass protection, the numbers don't lie)
Trades:
Eagles trade #15 to the Rams for two 2nd round picks and a 3rd
Asante Samuel traded for 2nd round pick
Desean Jackson 3rd round pick ($50+ million to a gimmick? No way!)
Mike Patterson traded for 6h round pick
Jason Avant traded for 7th round pick
Winston Justice traded for 7th round pick
Cuts:
Jamaal Jackson (adjusted for realness, I originally had him making the team)
Chad Hall (He has no shot of making this team with the acquisitions so let's treat him fairly and give him an opportunity to latch on with another organization during the offseason)
Draft:
2nd round (Rams)
Stephen Hill WR Georgia Tech Jr 6-4 215
Traded back in the draft not expecting to get the guy and what do you know, he fell out of the 1st round...
2nd round (Rams/Skins)
Alshon Jeffery WR South Carolina Jr 6-3 216
He was on the board, why not... Good bye redzone woes
2nd round
Zach Brown OLB North Carolina Sr 6-1 244
Height, weight, speed guy. If we are to continue running a 4-3, it's time to bring in a gifted talent at the 4-3 OLB position. He'll possibly be the favorite for the SAM position that was suppose to be the “playmaking” position.
2nd round
Coby Fleener TE Stanford 6-6 247
Two tight end sets are storming the league with the rules changes. Bring in a threat at that position who may win the #1 tight end position within a couple of seasons. This is a move to strengthen a redzone offense that is at the bottom of the NFL.
2nd round (Asante)
Josh Robinson 5'10 200lbs CB UCF
Talented developmental guy that can be brought along like Sheldon and Lito were. He'll also be worked in as a return specialist.
3rd round (Rams)
Vinny Curry DE Marshall 6-3 266
He has poor measurables and shorter arms, but he's a terrific football player. This is the point in the draft where you start making exceptions for prospects with more production and skill than physical measurables.
3rd (Desean)
Bruce Irvin DE West Virginia 6-3 245
Incredible athlete that Washburn should be able to develop into a terror
3rd round
George Iloka FS Boise State Sr 6-4 225
Perhaps Nnamdi can teach him the training regimen and technique necessary to make the feet of taller defensive backs more responsive. He'll be an additional DB that can focus upon defending the freak tight ends around the NFL. The arms are very long...
4th round
Cyrus Gray RB Texas A&M 5-10 206
Looks like he'll be able to run the same exact plays as Shady. He catches well and played in the west coast offense in college.
4th round
Lucas Nix OG Pittsburgh 6-5 317
Mobile and aggressive guard with a bad attitude. He may add to the unit what left with Runyan.
5th round
Nate Potter OT Boise State 6-6 303
He would make a nice right tackle (Vick's blindside) for the Eagles in Mudd's scheme
6th round (Patterson)
Mike Daniels DT Iowa 6-0 291
He's a Reid style defensive tackle. He'll probably reach for this guy in the 2nd round in reality. He had 9 sacks on the season.
6th round
Ron Brooks CB LSU 5-10 190
Nickel CB with some upside and special teams ability
6th round
Jaye Howard DT Florida 6-3 301
Quick explosive defensive tackle who has a great deal of the right clay for Washburn to mold
6th round
Donald Stephenson OT Oklahoma 6-6 312
Athletic linemen that looks capable of being a starting tackle in Mudd's scheme
7th round (Avant)
Emil Igwenagu FB Massachusetts 6-1 249
Willl be given a shot to win the starting FB job along with Havili
7th round (Justice)
Sent to the 49ers in the Larry Grant restricted free agent signing.
Undrafted Free Agents:
Jeremy Ebert 5-10 200lbs WR Northwestern
Ran a 4.38 at his pro day and can be seen running all NFL routes out of all WR positions.
Adam Gettis OG Iowa 6-2 293
extremely athletic undersized guard from a school that produces good NFL offensive linemen.
Louis Nzegwu DE Wisconsin rSr 6-4 255
freak athlete, had an incredible pro day. I'd like to see what Washburn could do with him
Grant Garner C Oklahoma State 6-2 292
Center prospect from a pass happy offense so he'll feel right at home. He also has the Jeff Saturday/Jason Kelce beard, which is a requirement for Mudd centers.

We only add 5 WR's this time, one of which who will be suspended by the NFL? Awesome job. _________________

Are you basing your mocks on what you think will happen or what you want to happen?
Either way, ew. _________________

That was awful. It's a "Howie Roseman" draft blown up into an entire offseason: get as many players as possible and hope a few stick.
Teams win with talent which we have (need more of at MLB and SAM) and continuity, which you utterly destroy here.
Didn't last year teach you anything. New faces doesn't always mean new results. Continuity and chemistry is essential. _________________

Arm length is the end all of everything. Never forget that. _________________

Not Curry. Edge pass rushers that run 4.9's at the combine don't see the 1st round in this era of football. His best bet is somewhere in the 2nd, but I see his chances greater of "slipping" into the 4th round than having a team reach for him in the 1st round. |

Stephen Hill and Zach Brown and Larry Grant I like. The rest of everything is terrible.. Im annoyed at all your criticism of our wide recievers as well. _________________

That's because you are willing to endure mediocrity and poor production. How else will the Eagles improve the horrible redzone offense they have which has been at the bottom of the NFL for several seasons? It's the receiving core as a whole including the TE's that are responsible for it. |

His proday had dramatically boosted his stock. He ran a 4.64

Call it a hunch but he'll go round 1 |

You do realize that the group of wide outs we have make us much better off than over half of the league right? We can always draft a big redzone threat or even sign Burress. Stop attacking them, its not like your ramblings are going to be read by the Eagles FO, we work with what we got. BTW, with these "mediocre" wr we put up a top five offense. _________________

Winning the Super Bowl isn't a "half the league" sort of deal. It's a one team thing. the Eagles are at the absolute bottom of the league in the redzone. |
