I actually really like Smith as well. He just looks too much like Leonhard and Smith for me to think he'll be any different.

I feel the same exact way. He just reminds me to much of what we have had.

I see no way that we do not draft Jordan Kovacs next year. He is Jim Leonhard.

lol He's nice, but I really like Eric Ried from LSU.

He's good but he's not Jim Leonhard. Rex loves safeties like Leonhard and Kovacs. Reid is more of a FS.

Manish just tweeted that Laron Landry is coming in for a visit this weekend. I think we are going to try to sign both back loading their contracts.

A pair of Nelson and Landry would be great IMO. No reason Smith can't be retained as well, but having those two would give the Jets the kind of athletes they haven't had at the position.

Exactly, and it will make our draft a lot easier. Here's a short link on laron's visit.

Revis, Cromartie,Wilson, Nelson, and Landry would be mind blowing if it can happen.

I heard the Jets are "intrigued" by the thought of getting Landry and Nelson. Idk if that happens though.

IF were going to try and get both I would really like to either move or restructure cromartie. Lets of money in that corner spot. They should also look to extend revis as well.

If they land both I think it will be a very good move.

I highly doubt we land both. I think if we sign Nelson they either cancell with Landry or vice versa and Landry signs with NE. We just dont have the money.

Schilens, Nelson, Stanton/Quinn and maybe a guy like Vernon Carey is a solid offseason considered we have no money to spend.

It depends, Nelson would want a multi year deal and certainly he most likely will get one. Landry will most likely get a one year incentive laden deal from teams, so we do have a chance to get both of them I think. Is it very possible, probably not, but it is doable.

If we sign Nelson he will be the biggest FA we sign.

I would love to see nelson & landry. But we willhave to rework some contracts, and maybe trade a few picks in the draft. Trying to sign 10-11 players on a low salary is not a good idea imo.

CB-Darrelle Revis
FS-Reggie Nelson
SS-LaRon Landry
CB-Antonio Cromartie
NB-Kyle Wilson

That secondary would be so much better than the rest of the league that it wouldn't even be fair if the Jets added a competent pass rusher.

Maybe we move some of those later picks and jump back into the 2nd or something like that to take someone we really like.

I hope we see our Secondary solidified this off season its a shocker we ranked so high despite our obvious issues at the back end of our D, and our inability to consistently rush the passer.

Revis, Cromartie, Nelson, Landry, Wilson would be one hell of a defensive back field if we managed to do that as well as add a RT who we can rely on I'd have to believe early in the draft we'd be going after a Receiver or a pass rusher.

By the way if we don't sign Landry is Taylor Mays on the open market again? he's not great in coverage but he always seemed to know how hit and tackle from what I saw of him in college. SS possibility maybe with some real physical tools.

I really do hope it happens, Eric Smith's time on the field minimized would be amazing. Feel bad for Leonhard though he always seemed to know what he was doing just his physical game didn't match up with his obvious understanding of what we were doing + 2 very unfortunate injuries

Yeah I expect Those later picks to be used to help trade up.

The reason why our defense looked so bad is the middle of the field was bad. Our safety's were slow, so TE's and slots killed the middle. and we struggled stopping the run when needed. signing safety's and drafting a ILB & OLB will make our defense solid for the next few years.

I'm not sure whats the deal with Mays, I wanted him after he was cut. But he does have to work on his coverage skills.

I really don't think Leonhard will be signed back anytime soon. Jets are probably waiting to see how he recovers as well as waiting to see who we can sign. I can't stand Eric Smith, he should be the one leaving.

My dream senerio as far as DB's. I would like to package Eric with a draft pick to trade up with. sign Landry & Nelson or Smith. Sign Leonhard as the back up SS . and draft a FS in the late rounds.

Why is everything so quiet on Nelson and Landry right now? Didn't Nelson have a visit yesterday, or is it today?
