I'm pretty sure that 4.4 million yen is below the veteran minimum. We can keep Hawk forever at that rate.

That's why its MilĄ. Million. Mil-yen.

anyone know exactly what our cap number is? what the expected rookie contracts are(they're pretty much set aren't they?)? that would give us what we have to work with.

my guess is that TT is looking for a cheap impact player but if they aren't there then he will happily draft players, look again at FA, and finally start resigning our key guys. it's not pleasing to us the fans because we don't get to hear about our team making moves and getting Packers in the headlines.

Here is the best I could do the other day::
eac63e6fe0a9332937810b47ad8ab6fd

But if you want the short and most updated version I've put together:: Without cutting anyone we have about 5.3M after draft picks available. I used last years picks to determine this years cost, but rounded up a touch to factor in the earlier picks.

did you factor in the money left over from last season?

It would be foolish not to use it since we likely wont be as far under this season as we were last season. So we would gain the most returns. I could see a lot of it being used to give Jennings a bonus with his extension though..

I know the 7Mil includes the 1.6 from Washington an Dallas, but I'll have to research the rollover. Either way, if we sign a big name this year it's going to lead to one of Lang, Jennings, or any other starter with an expiring contract leaving next year. So there was no point in letting a young talent go to keep Scott Wells. He's gotten up there, we've seen his performance drop after signing a big contract once before. Centers are one of the easiest positions to replace. This draft has Konz, Blake, Jones, and Brewster-- all guys I'd be okay with starting day 1.

im with you... im pretty over people getting mad about TT not signing FA's every year...

this team right now can win a SB along with about 2-3 other teams

& do fans really think TT isn't going to bring in multiple legit starters in this years draft?

packers need to simply find a solid center (dont need a pro-bowler) & get some better play from the current roster at the front 7 (any draft pick that can help as a rookie is only icing on the cake)

That's what you hope that they'll do.

Be interesting to see how Mark Anderson does in free agency. He had a very productive 2011 and can play both 4-3 DE and 3-4 OLB.

Probably get 2-3 years at roughly 4 mil per.

Close to 9mil per season. Not bad. It'll be close for our compensation pick between a 3rd and 4th.

Your right Ted has a plan and he's going to stay the course. TTs heading into this draft armed with 12 picks, i believe he'll be very aggessive and he has the ammo to do it. Teds going to address the pass rush, the center position, and the rest of the D in the draft. No reason to throw big contracts at guys for the sake of just signing someone. Ted wants to keep his core together and the best way is draft and develop. That way he keeps a constant flow of young cheaper talent coming in to replace over priced ageing vets. I also love the fact we never lose good players due to salary cap caualties. Look at playoff teams like NO and the texans. They had to say goodbye to key players because they over spent in free agency in past years. I believe ted will get his FA but at his price. In Ted i still trust.

A game in which I will be in attendance! 4th straight GB @ SEA game at which I will be.

(As you might have noticed, I don't like to end my sentence in prepositions)
