The former Dolphins could of been a restricted free-agent in the Dolphins chose to tender him but they passed.

Mostly a special teams player for most of his career, Hilliard's best season came in 2009 as a rookie, he ran 23 times for 89 yards and a touchdown and also caught 20 passes for 158 yards and two touchdowns.

The word "underwhelming" comes to mind.

I was thinking the words "2011 FA class looks pretty good right now".

Eh signing. It makes sense though to bring in an extra body just in case Gerhart and Peterson aren't ready to go or needs to start on the PUP or IR.

I agree but it's another 'who?' signing. It's as if they know for a fact he's going to be cut. At least bring in someone with proven ability to compete. This guy seems raw.

But you bring in someone who is proven and still isn't going to make the roster or see much playing time, might as well go with young unknown and see if you can get someone good who is a diamond in the rough.

Which you can get in the draft, with much greater potential. Miami fans don't have many if anything to say about this guy. Look I know this is your team and you love it but don't be afraid to question their logic. No one is going to think for one second you don't love the team any more or any less.

This combined with the last signing, has left me scratching my head. Hard. I don't have any hair left.

Which proven running back is going to come to Minnesota knowing he's going to be 3rd on the depth chart?

This guy is nothing more than someone to come in and take reps during OTA's and Mini camps.

You can't take every line I say so literally buddy. Proven can mean a guy who is a 3rd or 4th string back, but in relief duty or pre season action has shown glimpses of talent. From what I've gathered so far, Miami fans are not high on this guy at all. Not even a little.

So why not bring in someone who's career is either undeveloped but promising and or a guy on the decline just looking to prove them self?
