It's a 1-year deal.
A 7th round pick in the 2008 draft by the Panthers, Schwartz missed the entire 2008 and 2011 seasons with injuries and was left untendered by the Panthers despite originally entering free-agency as a RFA.
Schwartz did start every game in the 2010 season and showed he has a lot of ability as a run blocker, he is also only 25-years old.

Rejoice! Got a new starting RG, hopefully.
My apologies for thinking that him being a 49ers fan would have significant pull, especially to PurpleMugen, who was completely right. |

I'm going to bet some money on something today. It's a good day.
It's interesting that a 7th round offensive lineman is our most exciting signing of the FA period. |

Very solid player, who looks like a strong run blocker based upon the success Carolina had in 09 and 10. |

He is young, but was injured right? That was the whole deal?
EDIT: then the OP updates lol, thanks Billy!

Should be an upgrade at RG, and at the very least offers competition with Berger/Fusco/Love. _________________

Excellent.
Does he play RT too or is he strictly a guard? Someone that might push Loadholt is a must, I think. _________________

I knew he would come through! Makes me feel good that he was as coveted as he was. SKOL!
Now sign Ginn and I'm happy until the draft. _________________ Welcome to Minnesota, Greg Jennings.

I believe he has started at RT and RG, which is a big plus. |

Very excited this came through! He's gonna start and impress next year, that's my prediction.
If we go Kalil, a line of: Kalil/Johnson/Sullivan/Schwartz/Loadholt looks really solid.
Heck, even the backup line looks good: Love/Berger/Fusco/DeGeare/Brown.
Now on to WRs, DBs, and LBs... _________________

1 yr prove it type deal, probably in the $2-3 million range i would guess.
schwartz is still young and is the best guard on the team right now. |

| Color me very excited. Having him at RG makes me less worried about C. Johnson playing LG. |

Odd its a 1 year deal.
I would think its a 1 year 4million deal at the top end.
Get a bit more money, with no security of a longterm deal now. |
