Just to throw it out there I think a position we should be trying to secure looking at our starting lineup is TE, pretty clear to me its our worst starting caliber position, followed by NT, RT, and OLB.
I also think we could come out with better value picks and less need based picks if we keep our team more lined up in a 4-3 defense. If we switch to a 3-4 its going to warrant more need picks. A pass rushing OLB, an inside linebacker, and a NT all would need to be acquired to fill out a 3-4. I can understand having looks but I think a major question we need to start asking is how important is the 3-4 defense to us? _________________

Just my opinion but we don't have any untouchable players, if the value is fair I'd move anyone.
I agree Kelly/Seymour would be worth shopping around for starters as well need to add some more picks.
TE might be a need and once we sort out our big board we can look who might be available at our respective picks.
Murphy my hunch is wouldn't have much value in a trade, but I'd still shop him around. A similar deal to the Goodson/Campbell could be in order were we go for a team overloaded at a certain area.
Could I ask everyone to compile a team needs list for me? Want to see what our feelings are. _________________

I think the obvious trade candidates are Seymour and Kelly. One or the other should be on the move if we can get decent value.
I wouldnt trade Houston, or at least I wouldnt look to move him, hes not untouchable or anything.
I think staying in a 4-3 makes the most sense, we could run a hybrid, but switching completely will create more needs.
Team needs for me right now
DE
NT
LG
RT
Coverage LB _________________

I see DE but we do have 3 starting quality DE's in Shaughnessy, Bryant and Houston. Clearly your pointing more to the pass rusher Right side to back up Shaughnessy.
LG and RT is going to be interesting. Couple of unknowns, but I think Carlisle warrants more comfort then the Barksdale/Barnes tandem on the right.
What do you see at the TE position? _________________

I think Houston should be kicked inside, and even if he isnt he doesnt provide a ton as a pass rusher at DE. Bryant can provide some solid pressure, but not so much that it isnt a need. Same with Shaughnessy, we cant count on a guy that has only had a career high seven sacks in a season, who is also coming off injury. Its a massive need. In today's NFL you have to get pressure on the QB.
The TE position could use someone to solidify it, but I dont think its a huge need. We got by just fine with less than stellar production at TE. I also think that Marcel Reece could be a guy that plays the HBack role and could see some time at TE and be extremely effective. I just think with our WRs currently TE isnt a huge need because we dont have to lean on that position like in years past. Pass rushers are more important then TEs, and with upgrades to the OL it also wouldnt be a huge need because Palmer would get more time to hit his receivers down the field. _________________

So do you see Houston coming in at LDT and Seymour or Kelly playing Right? Bryant at LDE? That would point to a likely trade candidate in Seymour or Kelly. I still think as far as overall play coming into next year,Kelly is better, but again Houston has a bright future if he lives up to it. _________________

At this stage I'd probably be more inclined to trade Seymour over Kelly purely on an age/injury basis. I think Seymour could still garner solid value (a mid + late round pick I'm thinking? ) and with Houston/Kelly we would still have a solid DT pairing. _________________

Let's shop them both and trade the one with the most value then.
Team needs:
NT
Pass Rusher
LG
TE
OLB (LB depth). |

Hi Guys, just stopping by to see if there's any interest in any of our players on the block.
Pick #9
QB- Jimmy Clausen
RB-JStew or DWill, not both.
OT- Jeff Otah
DE/LB- Eric Norwood
WLB- Thomas Davis
CB- Captain Munnerlyn
CB- Darius Butler
FS- Sherrod Martin
If you have interest in any other players, just shoot me a PM. Some will be untouchable but we might be willing to move some for the right price. _________________

So lets making one of those there shopping lists and get it out.
Tommy Kelly
Richard Seymour
Darren McFadden
Louis Murphy
Jacoby Ford
Any other adds? Defensive Line and WR's seem like our workable positions. Looking at that it would be nice to package up a deal to the lower 3rd Round with a guy like Kelly or Seymour. _________________

I'm in if you need more help.
I also think we need to stay 4-3 for now, but maybe with one eye on players that could fit the 3-4 in future.
I wouldn't put McFadden on the block. I understand he hasn't been able to stay fit, and I really liked the Goodson trade, but I don't know that Goodson is a starter, and if not, it just creates a massive hole that needs to be filled.
I see our needs in no particular order as:
OL
TE
NT
RE
LB
FS
I say RE, because on passing downs, we could switch Shaughnessy to LE and move Houston inside (where he really needs to be).
Block players:
-Seymour or Kelly - if we bring in a NT and Houston is moving inside, we have too many DTs
-Murphy - a player I really like, but realistically he is #4 Wr at the moment, so we got to look at value to fill other needs.
-Huff - usually attracts interest, and always looks like a Corner playing at Safety. |

Id say no way, at least to the Broncos. _________________

I think its seems foolish to put out DMC's name and not listen when a player like Marcel Reese gets mentioned. Clearly the Broncos would need to come up with something attractive to get him but I'm willing to listen. _________________
