The 9th overall pick in the 2008 draft is mostly known for having is jaw broke by Steelers WR Hines Ward in his rookie season, he otherwise made no meaningful impact in the NFL.

Rivers played 7 games in 2008, 13 in 2009, 15 in 2010 and zero last season while totaling just 2 career sacks and 2 career INTs.

***Update***
It's for a 5th round pick.

Surprised he was let go, especially for a 5th round pick. Figured his value was around a 4th/veteran player. With three 5th round picks and so few of spots, I really hope the Bengals take a quality > quantity approach and try to trade back up into the 2nd or 3rd.

And I don't see how he fits on the Giants..Terrible at taking on blockers, shedding them, and can't get to the QB. Doesn't seem like a the style of LB they prefer.

Can't believe this. Doesn't make any sense to me, unless the Bengals know something about his wrist that we don't.

Well atleast it'll be an exciting 5th round.. We get 2 picks in a row at 166 and 167.

Not a fan, Rivers still has upside if he is healthy, a pick at the end of the 5th rd is more of a gamble than keeping Rivers for depth and competition to me.

Maybe we can take our 3 5ths and trade up for another 4th. We don't need that back end draft depth, and this draft's strength is in rds 2-4.

Agreed, he just seems like he is a dream pick for this team. Watch him become the next Ray Lewis (on the field) Pray

Yup, you can just see this happening, nailed on, fits our MO Burfict; sorry, purfect.

Marvin has interviewed him, had a 'heart to heart' with him, and they'll feel they can get his head on straight. Might even use the 4th on him.

With the back to backs, it will be Harris and Burfict obviously. Frees them to go WR, S, OG, and RB in the first two days.
