Most members on this board would consider themselves die hard Broncos fans. What constitutes die hard fanhood, how one may define it, is not the topic of this thread. This thread is about the team(s) which also has/have your sympathy.

If Denver is your spouse, the one team in probably all of sports that you support through thick and thin, the team which lets you rejoice and suffer with the highest intensity possible, the squad you stand behind and love and no other franchise ever can replace in its entirety, what is your fanhood's occasional affair? What is the dirty little secret that you cannot confess in front of your orange and blue colored conscience? In other words, if to regard oneself a fan of two teams would not be considered such a cardinal sin, which NFL team would you quietly root for?

I have to admit I like to see myself as 99% Broncos fan while the last percent consists of 0,5 percent Falcons and 0,5 percent Bears fanhood. I follow them very casually, am somewhat connected to the South due to family roots and have always admired tradition, cold weather teams, great sports cities and stifling defense; 4 attributes ATL has never really had yet I like them nonetheless (perhaps it's their bold Coca Cola red uniforms?). And just to make it clear, 0,5 percent worth of sympathy for Chicago does not make me 0,5 percent of a Double Chin fan. NEVER!

After my confession you may go ahead and tar and feather me...

I have to admit that I still secretly root for Jay Cutler, when hes not playing the Broncos of course. So it's not really like I'm any part Bears fan, I just want Cutler to succeed. I really thought that we would have a SB contending team built around Cutler.

Mine would be the Buffalo Bills. I was young, but Thurman Thomas was my favorite player growing up and i have liked them since.

Love what they have done the past few years, now they just need to find a legitimate QB. Ryan Fitzpatrick isn't the answer.

I don't really have a set second favourite, but during the season I find myself following teams that have several players on my fantasy team, ex Broncos players/coaches or rookies I liked during the draft process.

Last season I liked the Lions and the Steelers, the season before it was Pittsburgh and Chicago, the year before that was Pittsburgh and Arizona and in 2008 I liked the Jets and Panthers.

Lions
I have spent time in the area, and I met Barry Sanders in the drug store during the offseason one time. Quiet, humble guy, and one of my favorites all time. I asked for his autograph after chatting for a bit, and he would only give me his autograph, if I gave him mine. That, I thought, was very cool.

Detroit Lions. Met Calvin Johnson after his sophomore year of college and he was real nice, humble guy, came off classy and I've routed for him ever since. I also like Matt Stafford a lot, think he's a warrior, and has the skills to become elite. Amari Spievey is from my home state watched him in the state championship our senior year and he was unbelievable as a running back, also played a few games of basketball against him in middle school before he became a big deal.

I legitimately do not root for any other teams. I'm fairly indifferent as to whether or not a team does well or doesn't do well. I like certain players but I don't have a second team.

That, I think, must have been indeed very cool. Smile

I'm with you. Call me old fashioned, but I couldn't be with anyone else.

I get where you guys come from. A piece of me whishes it would be like that. Somehow I can't though. The combination of enjoying the game of certain players as well as travel memories (or other trivial stuff) lead me to cheer for other teams, funny enough only in the NFC. It's not like I spend an equal amount of time following ATL or Chi compared to the hours I dedicate to our Broncos. I have never posted in their FF forums and don't feel emotionally attached to these two teams. Whereas a Denver win makes me scream and jump and a Broncos' loss is a smashing blow, I just grin or switch channels with the Falcons or Bears. In case of Chicago it's also partly due to the city's history that makes me briefly follow their updates every couple of days.

Pretty much indifferent. That said, I do follow the Bears (Cutler) and Texans (Kubiak/Dennison).

I think its funny that you guys root for Cutler...I despise the guy personally. Next to Rivers Cutler is on my list of players I hate most.

As for who else I root for I am on a player basis, I like guys over teams (other than Denver).

My list of guys includes: Marshawn "Beast Mode" Lynch, OchoCinco (before Pats, I'll never root for the pats), Jared Allen.

I do not root for anyone else. But I definitely have a soft spot for the Ravens. My favorite player ever left Denver and won a Super Bowl there...and always have enjoyed watching them the last decade.

Since people in here are talking about former Broncos, I will too.

I dont root for any other team. I just dont.

However, I will root for Tim Tebow. Just like I root for any former Auburn players.
