NFL Network's Jason La Canfora reports that the Broncos and WR Brandon Stokley have agreed to a one year deal.

Interesting move. Veteran presence who can bolster the WR depth and has a preexisting relationship with Peyton Manning. The question is, how much, if anything, does Stokley have left in the tank?

I wonder if his presence is merely to catch a few balls this year and pretty much tutor the other WRs on what to expect and how to play with PM.

One of the best pure route runners in the history of the NFL not sure how this could be anything but beneficial on the field, if not off mentoring DT and Deck.

Good value signing. I'm not stoked about it but I'm sure the dollar figure is low. Best case scenario, he holds down the slot receiver position all year. Worst case scenario, he doesn't make it out of camp. I have a feeling though, Manning had a lot to do with this and will do his best to have Stokley make the team.

I'm not going to say that it was done to appease Manning, but you never know.

Manning got his outlet pass catcher. Let's just hope he can stay on the field.

Broncos fact: Two of the Broncos active WRs once torn their Achilles.

Bringing in a Veteran presence with the young WRs that we have on this team can't be a bad thing. Hopefully him and Manning rekindle their flame and Royal leaving for baby-bluer pastures won't be noticed in the slot game.

Unintentional rhyme

DUDE, you freaked me out with this post. Shocked It's late over here, I am tired and I was skimming through the threads. Just barely noticed that these injury reports are old. For a second I thought that DT was out again... My heart skipped a beat Laughing

Its always nice to have a veteran presence, but I really doubt he has much left in the tank. If he wins out the starting slot position, it shows that our WR core is thhiiiiiinnnnnn.

A smart professional guy. Bring him in and see what he can offer. Worst case you have a mentor and release him in camp.

Exactly it could just be a move to get a veteran in camp with Decker and DT and help them along.

no mentor, he will be good possesion reciever in this offense..doesnt need great speed..stokley runs great routes and has good hands, and knows manning very well, stokley will make the team and be a 4th wr in a 4 wr set with DT,Decker,cadwell..
