He is a perfect fit for a Lake Minnetonka pleasure boat.
I kid, I kid. Most of us are happy to see him go. Tremendous athlete, can make spectacular plays, but for every one of those, there are more bad drops, wrong routes, and overall inconsistent play. _________________

Not to mention he sells drugs maybe. Vike Daddy, don't be lazy, we aren't coming to the Vikings forum to tell you about him. _________________

| I'd be fine with the team re-signing Simpson. He hardly saw the field his first 3 years in the league, being buried behind Ocho. He played well the last 3 games of 2010 when Ocho was hurt. He played ok overall in 2011. Simpson isn't the sharpest tool in the shed and missed assignments but does have good athletic ability. He had over 700 yards last year which isn't bad for a #2 receiver but most of it was in a few big games and he disappeared at times. He'll probably be suspended for a while this season due to his felony conviction. |

Wouldn't that make us lazy?
He's alright. Disappears when you need him. Has tremendous talent and can do a mean front flip.
I don't want him back. I'd rather see the Bengals draft someone in round 1 or 2 and replace him. If they don't draft someone, then i guess i would be ok with him coming back. But not as the automatic #2. Someone needs to be pushing him. _________________

I think the plan is for the Bengals to go through the draft and if WR doesn't make sense when they pick through the draft, the resign Simpson. I still think the draft is Plan A _________________

I would agree with that. Makes it important for the Vikes to give him a contract if they want him before the draft. But they'll do the same thing: see what happens with the draft and go from there. _________________

I'd take a pass on Simpson right now, but if he hasn't got a home post-draft sign him to a minimum deal if he wants to. Let him bust his a$$ off in camp and earn his spot against other guys who are willing to workn hard and play ST's.
If the guy is a world class athlete battling hard to get that once in a lifetime multi-million dollar deal, you don't go risking it all on exposing yourself to the risk of a drugs bust or worse.
More than ever now in the NFL, you need players who are smart, and Simpson must be a dumb as a box of spanners.... _________________ " I imagine that in Paul McCartneys' house, he must have a shelf with the 12+ great 'Beatles' studio albums neatly stacked. | Simpson will get more than the minimum since at least 3 teams are interested in him. He should be fairly inexpensive, it's a question of how long he's willing to sign for now or if he wants a 1 year redemption deal so he can get a good contract next year. |

right, because two mouse clicks is just too much to ask.
Simpson met with the Vikes today and is staying the night in the Twin Cities. so maybe a contract is getting worked on. _________________

eh. you type it here, or you type in the other forum. same number of keystrokes.
other than the extra mouse click.
Simpson was not offered a contract in Minny, with our execs saying cautionary things about "we'll see what happens" and such. _________________

Wide receiver Jerome Simpson, who visited the Vikings over the weekend, has been suspended three games for violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy, according to ESPN.

3 games because he's an ex-bengal. If he was still on the team it would have been 8 games... _________________

He still might be a Bengal yet if we come out of this draft empty at WR. _________________
