The Falcons hosted free agent DT Aubrayo Franklin on Monday.
Franklin, who turns 32 before the season, is a rotational, early-down run defender at this stage of his career. He'd compete for a backup job in Atlanta.

As a Tennessee Vols fan I would like to love this, but he would have to get a minimum contract for me to like this move. Maybe this will be our move at DT instead of Thompson in round 2? Maybe not?

Hell Yes! Bring him in. He's great against the run.

he's definitely a good fit and could be a good run down rotational guy and 3-4 rotation guy.

I'd rather sign Franklin than go after someone a la Thompson from Clemson with our 2nd pick.. free up our draft for other positions..

I like it, 3-4 NT, check.

Bring on one of the 2-4 RBs. Any one of Martin, Miller, or my personal favorite would make for an exceptional backfield and even more dynamic offense!

Huge on Martin, I don't think he lasts to us, but I would be ecstatic if it happened. I really think Dwayne Allen still might be the pick if he's there. Good receiving TE, okay blocker. Other picks would love at other positions would be Mychal Kendricks, Casey Hayward, and Andre Branch (all who had private workouts for us, and we went to their Pro Days).

Franklin would be a good 3-4 NT, but I was thinking Peters could be that for us (I know he played in the 3-3-5 base defense at Kentucky, but not sure if he was the NT or not), however having a rotational guy would be nice.

Exactly what we need and the reason why I mocked Brandon Thompson to us at #55. We need a run stuffing NT who can play over the center in 3 man fronts. Franklin is that and a great run defender. Hope it happens before Friday.

this would be a great signing imo as he would come fairly cheap and fill a glaring hole in the new scheme

which in turn will give us much more flexibility in the draft. Lets all cross our fingers on this one

If we can get Franklin as well as Samuel. We can focus, on DLine, OLine and TE in the draft.

Also he was only there for 1 season. It had been going on way before he got there.

With Samuel on the team now will this happen? I know we def have to be close or over the cap now. Some guys have to be getting cut.

Ovie looks like he might be cut, because our staff likes Baker at LT.
