Adam Schefter said it. When it comes to the high picks in the draft, the man is gospel. Many speculate the Vikings rumblings of taking Claiborne is a smokescreen, but I dont think Schefter to be one falling for a smokescreen. I think its real.

4. Cleveland Browns - Trent Richardson RB Alabama

Ive gone back and forth on this a lot. At this point, it comes down to whether or not the Browns feel Tannehill is the best guy to take the reigns at QB for them. Right now, I dont believe thats true. I think they are targeting Weeden in the 2nd round, and will go BPA here. And no question that BPA is T-Rich here. He also fills a big need, as the Browns really struggled running the ball last year.

Buffalo trades their 1st and 2nd round picks to the Bucs for their 1st pick

5. Buffalo Bills - Matt Kalil OT USC

The Bills know it isnt likely Kalil gets beyond the Rams, and they are desperate for an OT. Theyve talked about acquiring a CB, but LT is a bigger need right now, and they dont want to let a blue-chip franchise LT prospect in Kalil go to another team.

6. St. Louis Rams - Fletcher Cox DT Mississippi State

And here we have our first upset of the draft. While Blackmon is a fine prospect, Cox should be right up there on most big boards, and while the Rams need a WR more than a DT, we know Jeff Fischer likes to load up his defensive line, and right now the Rams have very little at DT. Also, there will be an abundance of WR prospects at 33, while they would have to hope a guy like Jerel Worthy is there at 33 or settle for a lesser prospect at the later 2nd round pick.

7. Jacksonville Jaguars - Justin Blackmon WR Oklahoma State

If the Jags are serious about building around Blaine Gabbert, they will make this pick. And we know Gene Smith is committed to Gabbert, so I cant see them passing on Blackmon here when they have pretty much nothing of value at WR.

8. Miami Dolphins - Ryan Tannehill QB Texas A&M

The world must truly be ending in 2012, because the Dolphins finally draft a QB in the first round. Thank goodness. I love Tannehill to the Dolphins more than any other team because he fits the system perfectly and has a great coach to develop him in Philbin. The Dolphins also have Matt Moore, who can start for a year, so Tannehill doesnt get pressed into playing too early ala Blaine Gabbert.

Dallas trades their 1st and 2nd round picks to the Panthers for their first and 4th round picks

9. Dallas Cowboys - Mark Barron S Alabama

Barron's stock has really gone up for whatever reason. Either way, it doesnt look like he will get down to the Cowboys spot, so they overpay a bit to move up and ensure getting him.

10. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Luke Kuechly ILB Boston College

With their two options off the board at 5, the Bucs move back, get some value, and still fill one of their biggest needs. We know they were looking at getting a new MLB when they almost signed Lofton, so its hard to imagine them not picking him here. If they cant trade out, I still think they go with Kuechly at 5.

11. Kansas City Chiefs - Dont'a Hightower ILB Alabama

Here we have our first upset of the first round. Seems everyone has Hightower pegged in the 17-24 range, but I think he is going to go higher than that. He has all the qualities Scott Pioli loves, and he is a perfect 3-4 player, as he plays ILB very well (obviously) and can get pressure on the QB from the inside or the outside. Perfect compliment to Derrick Johnson inside.

12. Seattle Seahawks - Quinton Coples DE North Carolina

Coples could be an elite DE in the NFL, and if Pete Carroll can get the guy motivated (which he probably thinks he can), I think he will take a chance on him here and try to tap into that potential. A lot of people have Coples falling out of the top 15, but I dont buy it.

Detroit trades their 1st, 2nd, and 6th round picks to Arizona for their 1st pick

13. Detroit Lions - Stephon Gilmore CB South Carolina

Gilmore has been rising a lot recently. So much so, this could be seen as a steal. He has a lot of developing left, but if he reaches his ceiling, he will probably be the top CB from this class, and one of the best in his class.

14. Carolina Panthers - Michael Floyd WR Notre Dame

The Panthers were targeting Gilmore here, with Brockers or Floyd being a backup plan. While the upside of Brockers is very tempting here, pairing up Cam Newton with a dynamic receiver like Floyd is more appealing. The yare building around Cam, but they still dont have a long-term #1 WR on the team. They get that player here.

15. Philadelphia Eagles - Michael Brockers DT LSU

The Eagles biggest need is by far DT, and we all know Andy Reid loves drafting DTs. Brockers has huge potential, and while it might take a bit to develop, he could be the anchor of the Eagles' defense.

16. New York Jets - Melvin Ingram DE South Carolina

The Jets supposedly love Ingram and think he is a perfect fit at OLB opposite Calvin Pace. If the Jets want to get that #1 defense back, they need to rebuild the talent. Scheme can cover a lack of talent for only so long, as weve seen by the regression of the Jets defense.

17. Cincinnati Bengals - Courtney Upshaw OLB Alabama

I dont like believing in pre-draft rumors that dont make sense to me, but Im going to do just that here simply because Ive heard it so much and from all over the place. The Bengals want to go with the top defender at #17, and it seems they believe that player is Courtney Upshaw.

Green Bay trades their 1st and 2nd round picks to the Chargers for their 1st and 4th round picks

18. Green Bay Packers - Whitney Mercilus DE Illinois

The Packers jump over rival Chicago to ensure they dont get Mercilus and that they do. Mercilus has a ton of potential and if a team at the end of the first round wants him, they should trade up for him. He is a good fit at 3-4 OLB and could play an Aldon Smith type of role for Green Bay.

19. Chicago Bears - Chandler Jones DE Syracuse

Im buying the Jones rising exponentially hype. The Bears reportedly want to adress the defensive line early, considering the great depth of the WR class this year, and they can get a slot type receiver in the 2nd round.

20. Tennessee Titans - Devon Still DT Penn State

The Titans' biggest need is DT, and the value is here with Still. Pretty simple marriage, as the Titans look to rebuild the defensive line.

21. Cincinatti Bengals - Stephen Hill WR Georgia Tech

The Bengals bite on the potential of Hill and continue building around Andy Dalton and AJ Green. If Hill reaches his potential, the Bengals will be having flashbacks of the days with Palmer, Ocho Cinco and Housh.

22. Cleveland Browns - David DeCastro G Stanford

The Browns stop the fall of DeCastro here, getting a steal. Guard isnt a huge need, but its hard to pass on the chance to pair a RB like T-Rich with a guard as good as DeCastro.

23. Arizona Cardinals - Riley Reiff OT Iowa

The Cards have needs across the offensive line, so they take the best one on the board here in Reiff. He is the BPA here and Reiff could start at LT, RT, or G, so he gives them a lot of flexibility.

24. Pittsburgh Steelers - Dontari Poe DT Memphis

The Steelers arent afraid to go after a risky prospect like Poe. Casey Hampton's days are numbered, the Steelers will need to find a future NT ASAP.

25. Denver Broncos - Dre Kirkpatrick CB Alabama

The Broncos will be tempted to go with a DT like Worthy here, but the value of Kirkpatrick is too good too pass up. Also, the Broncos have a big need at CB, and Kirkpatrick could challenge for a starting spot.

26. Houston Texans - Coby Fleener TE Stanford

Tough for the Texans to pass on Fleener here. They need a dynamic receiver because Andre Johnson is all they have. Fleener is a mismatch nightmare and could add another element to the Texans' offense.

27. New England Patriots - Shea McClellin DE Boise State

The Pats love versitale players, and McClellin is very versitale. He can get pressure on the QB from the DE spot or OLB. The Pats will be looking to replace Mark Anderson.

28. New York Jets - Amini Silatolu G Midwestern State

The Jets pay a premium to move up and get the fast-rising Silatolu to start right away at guard. The Jets like this guy a lot, they might even consider him at 16. They grab him here, hoping he can add more physicality to the offensive line.

29. Baltimore Ravens - Cordy Glenn OT Georgia

The Ravens are looking to fill the void left by Ben Grubbs here. Glenn presents great value at this point.

30. San Fransisco 49ers - Kevin Zeitler G Wisconsin

If Hill isnt on the board, they will probably take the highest ranked G on the board. That has to be Zeitler here. He is a good fit in the 49ers physical offense.

Tampa Bay trades both of their 2nd round picks to the Pats for their 1st and early 2nd round picks

31. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Doug Martin RB Boise State

The Bucs want T-Rich, but cant get him. As an alternate, they move up a bit to take Martin, who is a lot like Richardson.

32. New York Giants - Jonathon Martin OT Stanford

A pass rusher is viable, but Martin is too good too pass up here. The Giants O-line wasnt very good last year, and they are looking to rebuild the offensive line.

ROUND DEUX

33. St. Louis Rams - Alshon Jeffry WR South Carolina
The Rams need a WR for Sam Bradford, as he doesnt have much of anybody to throw to. I think his lack of reliable targets is as big a reason he got sacked so much as their O-line.

Cleveland trades their 2nd and 5th round picks to the Colts for their 2nd and 7th round picks

34. Cleveland Browns - Brandon Weeden QB Oklahoma State

Knowing the Pats like to trade down, the Browns move above them to ensure a team like KC doesnt move up and take their QB. Colt McCoy is a serious weak spot on the team, and Weeden could be their franchise QB. Even though he is old, he could start as a rookie (an old rookie, but a rookie noentheless)

35. Minnesota Vikings - Reuben Randle WR LSU
The Vikings need to give Ponder targets to throw to. A big receiver like Randle will help the development of Ponder a lot.

36. New England Patriots - Brandon Boykin CB Georgia
Again going for versitale players, the Pats adress the secondary with Boykin, an underrated prospect who fits their scheme and will excel.

37. Indianapolis Colts - AJ Jenkins WR Illinois
The Colts need to give Andrew Luck guys to throw to to maximize his potential.

38. Jacksonville Jaguars - Kendall Wright WR Baylor
Weve seen the Jags double up on positions early before, so they do it again here. Adding Wright and Blackmon will really promote Gabbert's success.

39. Tennessee Titans - Peter Konz C Wisconsin
We all know how badly the Titans' interior O-line struggled. They said they wont go there in the first, but with Konz slipping here, they pull the trigger and move up to improve their biggest weakness.

40. Carolina Panthers - Jerel Worthy DT Michigan State
Itll be tough for the Panthers to pass on the value Worthy has here. DT is a big need for them, and Worthy is a first round prospect.

41. New England Patriots - Harrison Smith S Notre Dame
The Pats go back to the secondary, adding Smith, who could start from day 1.

42. Miami Dolphins - Dwayne Allen TE Clemson
The Dolphins need to build around Ryan Tannehill and give him receivers to throw to. We all know TEs are great for young QBs to develop (see: Matt Stafford with Brandon Pettigrew), and Allen is the most complete TE in the draft.

43. Seattle Seahawks - Bobby Wagner LB Utah State
The Seahawks need to come away with an ILB in the first two rounds, otherwise Barret Ruud could start. Thats not good. Wagner might be a reach here, but he fills their biggest need.

44. Kansas City Chiefs - Alameda Ta'amu DT Washington
The Chiefs are desperate for an answer, and Ta'amu is the best NT behind Poe in the draft. He needs to become more consistent, but if he is able to play at a consistent level, he will be a very good NT for the Chiefs.

45. Carolina Panthers - Mychal Kendricks ILB Cal
Kendricks is under the radar, but can play MLB or OLB, and can also get to the QB. With the injury concerns at ILB and OLB for the Panthers, he fits well.

46. Philadelphia Eagles - LaVonte David LB Nebraska
The Eagles cant keep ignoring their LBs. David is a steal here and the Eagles would be foolish to pass him up here.

47. San Diego Chargers - Andre Branch DE Clemson
The Chargers start their draft by adressing a big need with a player who is pushed down from being in such a deep DE class.

48. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Jayron Hosely CB Virginia Tech
The Bucs CB corps are a bit of a mess. They need to get a rookie who fits the system in there to help solidify the position.

49. San Diego Chargers - Trumaine Johnson S Montana
The Chargers desperately need a safety opposite Eric Weddle.

50. Chicago Bears - Mike Adams OT Ohio State
The Bears catch the falling Adams here to continue their fixing of the offensive line. He could challange for the starting LT spot.

51. Philadelphia Eagles - Kirk Cousins QB Michigan State
It seems the Eagles are set on drafting the future replacement of Mike Vick. They opt for Cousins here.

52. St. Louis Rams - David Wilson RB Virginia Tech
With Steven Jackson about to be 30, the Rams prepare for his decline.

53. Cincinatti Bengals - Janoris Jenkins CB South Alabama
The Bengals are the ones to take a risk on Jenkins. HE is talented, and will probably start, but how long can he stay out of trouble?

54. New York Giants - Nick Perry DE USC
The giants considered him in the first round, and seeing him fall, they promptly move up to get him.

55. Atlanta Falcons - Bobby Massie OT Ole Miss
The Falcons go BPA here, adding Massie who falls a bit. He played RT in college, but has good feet and I think he could be a LT in the NFL.

56. Pittsburgh Steelers - Kelechi Osemele OT Iowa State
The Steelers must draft an offensive lineman early. They have room for improvement all across the line except center.

57. Denver Broncos - Brandon Thompson DT Clemson
The Broncos need to find a starting caliber DT in the draft, because they dont have much of anything there right now.

Washington trades their 3rd and 4th round picks to the Texans for their 2nd pick

58. Washington Redskins - Brian Quick WR Appalachian State
The Redskins move up to get their choice of the best WRs remaining. Quick has a lot of potential and could be a reliable target for RGIII

59. San Diego Chargers - Brandon Brooks G Miami (OH)
The Chargers look to replace Dielman here. Brooks could surprise many, I think he will be a very good player.

60. Baltimore Ravens - Mohammed Sanu WR Rutgers
The Ravens go BPA, adding a young target for Flacco to throw to. He is a good compliment for the deep threat Torrey Smith.

61. San Fransisco 49ers - Marvin McNutt WR Iowa
The run on WRs continue as the 49ers look get Alex Smith real receivers to throw to.

62. New England Patriots - Vinny Curry DE Marshall
The Pats drafted McClellin earlier, but its hard to pass on Curry's value here.

63. Arizona Cardinals - James Brown OT Troy
The Cards again go O-line. Both Reiff and Brown look like they could play either guard or tackle spots in the NFL. That kind of flexibility is nice for a re-building offensive line.

Passing on DeCastro for inferior prospects = automatic fail.

I truly believe the Upshaw rumors are pure smokescreens, something the Bengals do very well. If they aren't, well God help us all in Bengaldom.

I'd go DDC then Hill there, and then Perry in round two. Jenkins is great value there, but I really believe we're trying to shake our image we built in the mid-late 2000's.

Give us Perry in the second. And we aren't going to draft Trumaine Johnson. He has a huge list of problems, a lot more than just the taser incident. A lot hasn't been reported, but I've talked with someone who went to Montana and he said that Johnson basically does whatever he wants and feels entitled because he's the best player.

I'm actually a fan of Mychal Kendricks, but I don't think he fits in well with what we have at linebacker. I love the first 2 picks, I'd chagne that one to Josh Robinson, CB from Central Florida.
