|
|
|
NFL teams were informed this week of 2 more players of note who have flunked drug tests: ASU LB Vontaze Burfict and Va Tech CB JayRon Hosley
https://twitter.com/#!/jayglazer
WOW on Hosley, that's awful for the kid. If this causes him to slip to the 3rd round, any takers, any takers KNOWING he flunked this test?
At this point, the word "pathetic" is too light too decribe Vontaze Burfict. Kid simply doesn't get it. _________________

I saw that Burfict said that he might try to go back to school. Yikes, end of the road for him.
As for Hosely, it is definitely intriguing. If we go O-line in the first, than I could be on board for that. If not, it would not be the worst thing in the world, but it all but ensures that the starting offensive line is going to be miserably pathetic. _________________

Have we ever heard of anything bad character wise coming from Hosley in the past?
If weed is his only issue I might still be interested depending on how he came off in interviews et al, whether he seemed like a well put together kid with a good head on his shoulders.
It is plain stupid however that a guy gets caught when he knows it is coming. _________________ Patrick Peterson - 92 targets, 40 catches allowed, 602 yards, 6 TD's, 7 INT's

Housley if around in the 3rd, I am taking no matter what.
No reports ever about his behaviour that i have read.
He would be lovely across from PP.
VB is still worth a chance, with our 2nd 6th round pick, assuming we keep it.
He just needs to grow up |

Burfict's stock is so low, this probably doesnt even affect him tomorrow. he has to be the biggest joke in this years draft class though.
but this does affect Housley...im not sure how much, but it will have an impact. _________________

Burfict was not in my top 300 draft prospects posted in the draft forum. That was BEFORE this news came out. _________________ Patrick Peterson - 92 targets, 40 catches allowed, 602 yards, 6 TD's, 7 INT's

Such a tough hypothetical. If he was a "level-headed" player his game would change so much. He probably would have worked hard and done very well at the combine and probably come out looking like a first round pick. If he was "level-headed" he would have seen improvement from freshman to sophomore to junior seasons.
If I was drafting a guy on the field as Burfict was as a junior, who then posted the combine numbers Burfict did, but did not have the off field issues, 5th/6th round value. His tape is just bad. _________________ Patrick Peterson - 92 targets, 40 catches allowed, 602 yards, 6 TD's, 7 INT's

probably the hardest in the entire class...
Burfict will still be drafted IMO, late 6 or early 7...but i am starting to think he wont last long in the NFL. and when i say he wont last long, i mean he wont make an NFL roster. he might be cut BEFORE the final cut down ala Noel Divine.
to use Stchamp's words..."he doesnt get it"...nobody can help Vontaze, he is a lost cause. _________________

Completely agree. He would undoubtedly show up 30 lbs. overweight for starters. |

| I'd pass on Burfict. I don't want to be the team the takes the biggest headcase in the draft. When is the last time that worked out? |

Burfict's response to the failed drug test was "I'm not the only one that failed" _________________

that quesion really cant be answered because there has probably never been such a headcase to enter the NFL. Vontaze is one in a million. _________________
