Pretty self explanatory, but please use this thread to discuss all events, topics, evaluations of other teams picks, etc. that may be related to the NFL draft.
So no, "Can you believe the Steelers took Johnathan Martin?!?" threads... that's what this thread is for. Discuss each and every pick to your hearts content.
For those with active twitter accounts, please refrain from posting the picks before they actually air... let's not ruin the suspense for other FF members, it's part of the fun for most people. Now your personal guess... that's free base and encouraged.
Also let's try to avoid duplicate/triplicate draft selection threads. Only one thread per draft pick. If we trade back/forward, a thread can be made to discuss that however. coordinator0 will be the one responsible for making the Ravens 1st Round Pick thread- no one else.
And above all else, let's enjoy the fact that THIS is our free agency... and we're one of the best at it! _________________

Sign me up captain. I'm assuming that you're talking about the individual picks the Ravens make, right? |

Correct, just a thread to say; "With the 29th pick the Ravens take..." or whatever like we usually do.
Perfect. I'll update the OP to reflect that you will be the volunteer to make the draft thread. If there is a first round thread created by anyone else... I'll zap it (once I see it). _________________

Getting really exited here in Denmark! Only a good 3.5 hours away now . Sucks that it's getting aired at 2am though, but what the heck I'm working at home tomorrow anyway! _________________

Am I to start this thread before the Ravens pick or after they submit their pick? My reading comprehension fails me today. |

Sounded to me like you'd make it when the pick is made. _________________

In the past it's been when the pick is made. No need to change it. _________________ When you go in the lion's den, you don't tippy toe in — you carry a spear, you go in screaming like a banshee, you kick whatever doors in, and say, 'Where's the SOB?' If you go in any other way you're gonna lose. |

Yeah that's what I did last year too. Seems like the best way to go. Must not have gotten enough sleep or something last night, I'm feeling out of it today. |

Looks like Cle has struck a deal with Minny to move up 1 spot for Richardson...
| Quote: | | RT @JayGlazer: I'm hearing we have our first trade; Cleveland moving up from #4 to #3 w Minnesota. Giving up 3 picks > Trades have begun! |
Don't really know if I think it's a great idea... I know some like Richardson, but Imo the value at RB at 3 is horrific. They could have gotten Doug Martin at 22 if they really wanted a RB badly.
Furthermore they now also pay picks to move up to get the guy, they should have stayed put, and if somebody is stupid enough to trade in front of them it's their loss.
Edit: Looks like #4 + 4th, 5th and 7th for #3.... That is why Cle is a such a horrible organisation... _________________

| I think there's a pretty big gap between Richardson and Martin, and I do have Martin as my #2 RB. He's a good enough player to overcome the positional value stigma in my opinion. Richardson was the guy I thought Cleveland was going to take the whole time so making them give up more draft picks to get him is nice to hear as a Ravens fan. |

Correct. You can make the thread during/after the pick. Once they make it on TV, you're good... _________________

I know. This was exactly my thinking, they pay more picks to get the guy we knew they would get.
I think this just makes it all the more reason why the Ravens need/should be taking an ILB with some quickness to him at #29. Richardson is a beast, but he's also another one of those quick, shift backs that have given us issues. We're going to need to increase the athleticism of our LBing core to combat this.
WOWWWWWW!!!! The St. Louis Rams are straight killing it this year. Really smart trades! _________________

I'm not too high on Richardson. Sure they guy is talented, but a quality running game is so dependent on the OL and respect for the passing game. Browns scare no one when passing the ball. I like RB's and running the ball, but I think you can get a quality one later in the draft at better value.
A LOT of trades so far, it's pretty fun actually .
Not really any shocker yet. Sure I'm not a fan of the Barron pick, but I guess its decent as he's a good player, but way too high to pick a safety that is not Ed Reed elite Imo. _________________

I'm not the biggest fan of Poe because of how he looked like he didn't like contact on tape. I also disagree with Mike Mayock about his "good motor" take on Poe... if the play didn't go to Poe... he wasn't moving to the play. He's not a JJ Watt that's going to be chasing plays down the field.
But whatever, this allows talent to continue to get pushed down the board and helps keeps the Ravens from having to make a choice between Poe's potential and more solid/better collegiate talents.
If Poe gets to his potential than good for KC, but I'm just not comfortable with the guy. _________________
