I know everyone is happy with the DD pick , myself included Laughing

Was anyone hoping for Glenn instead since he could possibly handle some DT's better and is more versatile as a backup /emergency OT?

They got Adams which is like 2 specialists (Lt and RG) instead of a jack of all trades (essux, legursky) , master of none like they used to get. Finally a change in philosophy and the OL gets fixed, or has the potential to get fixed Rolling Eyes

Youre gonna get 4-3 all fired up. I dont think there was anybody that wanted Glenn more than DeCastro.

I was probably one of the highest on Glenn and there was no question for me that I wanted DeCastro more. I would say that I thought maybe Steelers would like Glenn more because of tackle/guard versatility. Really though DeCastro can easily play center/guard and now we have a great backup for the center spot. In any case Essux or Legs may be gone, probably Essux but he did save us with his play at center.

DeCastro is, undoubtedly, the far superior prospect IMO.

Glenn may be huge, but he had alot of his own struggles.

Im not saying Glenn cant or wont be good, but IMO, Glenn went right around where he should have gone and DeCastro went about 10 picks after he should have.

DeCastro was the no brainer here. He's an all around better prospect. The only thing Glenn has over him is body mass.

I think they both will have good careers but DeCastro should be better.

Why do you feel he could handle them better than DD? Because he's bigger? I don't think there is a better prospect coming into this draft at "handling DTs" than DD. He not only is big, but he's strong as an ox, and has a great ability to get low, which translates, along w/ his strength, as the best in this class at "handling" DTs. His arms are shorter, so maybe you meant that, and that is a fair asumption, but really, DD was better than Glenn in all aspects of the game minus the versatility aspect, but even then, he could play OC in a pinch.

So to answer your question, absolutely not. If we would've selected Glenn over DD, I would have been one of those irrational fans who swore never to follow the Steelers again (then would've seen me here the next day Very Happy ).

Mayock said his only concern is with a bigger players across from him. Decastro should be pro bowler and it looks like Glenn will be out of position in Buffalo if at LT. Next year trade colon to the Bills for LG Glenn Razz
