I think this guy has a strong chance to be the 4th D lineman in terms of snaps played
Raji
Pickett
worthy
Daniels
Obviously he fits as a situational guy, and will struggle with double teams, but is the kind of explosive quick player that we lack (cullen jenkins).
worthy doubles as a 5 tech/3 tech and daniels is more 3 tech/nickle. Between the two, you have a full player who can take 1/3-1/2 the snaps on the D-line. I see some great synergy here between the two guys. _________________

I think this is a quiet pick with a lot of potential payoff. Looks like a hard working/high motor guy. Doesn't seem to have any motivation issues whatsoever. Great coaching at Iowa too.
It doesn't mean that Neal is on the hot seat because we've been drafting/acquiring DE's left and right. _________________

Ran a 4.86 at his junior pro day last year. Pretty quick for a guy his size. _________________

If the film from the Oklahoma game is any indication, this guy can play. Consistently got pressure up the middle with a superb motor.
Not sure how stout the Oklahoma O-Line is, but Daniels was highly disruptive against them. |

Might as well add Mike Neal to that list as well since he didn't really get into the flow of things last year.
Didn't we sign Muir as well? |

I've been thinking that maybe the Packers are looking to run more 3-3-5 nickle.
Have a line of Hargrove, Raji and Daniels with Clay, Bishop and Perry as the LBs.
Lots of pass rush potential there.
Not that I think the 2-4 will go away, but it could be an interesting new wrinkle. _________________ This is a sig. |

I can't wait for T.C. | Yes, I am stoked at the additions we've made to the pass rush. Its the key to any defense and there was way too much responsibility placed on Raji and Clay. _________________

I don't have any time. Just want to say I FRICKIN LOVE THAT PICK!!!
Poor man's Cox. Felt he would go in round 2 there(Philly) if they did not land Cox. One hell of an interior pass rusher though! _________________

Good to know. This really is becoming as fun as the Raji/ Matthews year--except the fun keeps rolling on! _________________

My second favorite pick in this draft so far to be honest. I really, really like Daniels, especially this late in the fourth. He's strong and quick and he provides an interior push more-so than anyone else on the roster. I mocked him once, he's a very TT-esque pick in many ways. Very happy with all four picks. Not really sure about the safety taken right after Daniels though... only heard his name once or twice before today. _________________

But seriously, didn't like it too much when I saw his heights. Saw his college production and I'm a bit more keen on it. Could be a good rotational guy in the nickel, one of our biggest issues was we couldn't rest Raji in that formation because he was all we had! _________________

From Tony Pauline
| Quote: | | In Iowa, defensive tackle Mike Daniels, who is returning from a labrum injury, stood out for the teams on hand. His marks included 4.93 in the 40, with a very quick 10-yard split at 1.59. Daniels touched 36.5-inches in the vertical jump and 9-11 in the broad jump. Those were impressive numbers for Daniels, who tipped the scales at 293 pounds, a good weight for a defensive line prospect who's been characterized as undersized. |
