|
|
|
Ryan Lindley
6'3 229, 10 inch hands
Started as a true frosh for SD State, setting all sorts of records 242/427m 2653 yds and 16 tds. He had 3 300 yd games and one 400 yd game
Soph season went for 3054 yds and showed his big arm, accuracy has been an issue when pressured
3,830 yds came in 2009 asa junior and a ratio of 28-14
His senior season finsihed with 3153 yds with only 53% completions and a TD/Int ratio of 23/8.
Overall a 4 yr starter on a good team, throwing for over 12000 yds and 90 tds and 47 ints, needs some work, but will be #3 for us in 2012.
From NFL.com
Analysis
Strengths Lindley has a very lively arm and can drive the ball from anywhere on the field off his back foot. When he is having a good game, Lindley can thread the needle and put the ball on a receiver in stride 65 yards down the field. He is athletic in his pass set and can extend plays and fend off would-be rushers. Lindley is a developmental talent who has value to teams willing to be patient with him.
Weaknesses Lindley has been inaccurate at times and will take some time to develop. He will throw an NFL pass one play, then make a bad decision that puts his team in trouble. He is athletic but can be a slow mover and take sacks from holding the ball too long. Most of his issues stem from his inconsistency in intermediate and deep routes.
Welcome to the Desert Ryan. |

Look at the offense he played in. If he threw as many bubble screens and short routes as guys like Weeden and Griffin his completion percentage would be in the mid 60's. _________________ Patrick Peterson - 92 targets, 40 catches allowed, 602 yards, 6 TD's, 7 INT's

SD State chuck it around alot
Sampson WR we drafted last year was one of his targets
Comp % is relative to the system
You dump it off and you can be a 70% QB
You chuck it deep, you are 55%
I think his arm strength and experience cannot be taught, accuracy can be.
Fine pick at 185 |

Kellen Moore does not fit Arizona offense at all. I would have hate to seen him get draft by Arizona _________________

There is film of every throw he made vs Michigan on youtube. It was far and away his worst game of the season. It gives you some clue as to the types of NFL route combinations and route trees that SDSU used.
It also shows you the best and the worst of Lindley. You can watch him make frozen rope throws to the opposite sideline with pressure in his face and just say WOW. Then two throws later you can be left wondering how he missed that throw..
Upside is tremendous, the more QB's you have the more chance one works out.
Lindley was talked about as a 1st round pick as little as 12 months ago. _________________ Patrick Peterson - 92 targets, 40 catches allowed, 602 yards, 6 TD's, 7 INT's

That because everyone thought he improve on his 57% accuracy from the season before. Instead he only throw for 53% _________________

No it was becasue of the tools he had. He could just as easily be a Jevan Snead like QB who was touted #1 overall and then became nothing, but one cannot deny the upside that is in this pick. _________________ Patrick Peterson - 92 targets, 40 catches allowed, 602 yards, 6 TD's, 7 INT's

i can understand the dislike for the pick. but its true that there is a lot of upside here. and considering most guys drafted this late fail to make any real impact, i think its worth taking a chance on a guy like this.
and please Khodder...dont compare him to Jevon Snead lol. _________________

I'm a little biased here, as I actually like Lindley, but I'm not sure how anyone can find fault in this pick in the 6th round. _________________
